We have collected interesting projects of small-sized apartments, which, thanks to competent work with the layout, have become much more functional.
1 Functional studio with a dedicated bedroom
Area: 35.3 sq. m
The interior of these apartments was designed for a working young man. To optimize the space for the needs of the owner, the designer resorted to a small redevelopment. An open studio space was made from a standard one-bedroom, combining a room with a kitchen-living room. The cooking area "hid" in a niche, and the bedroom was separated by a rack partition: it looks lighter than a blank wall, and does not prevent the penetration of natural light into all corners of the living room. The hallway was also attached to the common area to enhance the feeling of spaciousness. Thanks to these changes, it was possible to create a comfortable space for one tenant, as well as to arrange all the necessary furniture more ergonomically.

2 Bright one bedroom with a dressing room and an office
Area: 39.5 sq. m
This apartment had a rectangular kitchen and one large room before the redevelopment. Her designer suggested to reduce, and to give the vacant area for a dressing room and a workplace. So it turned out to create a much more functional interior, while the bedroom remained separate. The redevelopment also affected the kitchen: the entrance was moved, and in place of the old door, it was possible to place column cabinets with built-in appliances. Next to the cooking area, a place was allocated for the dining group, and places for recreation were organized here, in the kitchen, and on the loggia.

3 One-bedroom, from which they made a comfortable two-bedroom
Area: 38.3 sq. m
This one-room apartment with the help of competent redevelopment was turned into almost a full-fledged two-bedroom apartment. Initially, the object was rented as a standard one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen, a living room and a walk-through hallway. It was the entrance area that did not suit the hostess, because with such a layout, dirt would spread throughout the apartment. As a result, the designer proposed to allocate an entrance hall by means of a walk-through dressing room. And also combine the kitchen and living area, separate the bedroom in the common space and arrange a small living room on the remaining plot. Thanks to this solution, it was possible not only to isolate the hallway, as originally planned, but also to allocate a large number of functional areas: a living room, a bedroom, a spacious kitchen, a dressing room.

4 Small apartment with dressing room and storage room
Area: 37.4 sq. m
The owner of this apartment set the designer the task of allocating a separate dressing room on a small area and enough space for a home library. It was possible to do this without drastic changes, since according to the developer's plan, a separate kitchen, a room, a bathroom and a mini-pantry in the hallway were already supposed to be in the housing. They decided to keep the latter as a separate functional room, and a part of the room was taken under the dressing room. To do this, the entrance was moved and made from the kitchen. The living room was decorated in a common area next to the dining table.

5 Studio with a separate bedroom and a workplace
Area: 32 sq. m
In this project, the designer had to work with a narrow and long studio, the so-called "wagon". With such a layout, functional zones are usually designed sequentially. So they did here. The living area has a kitchen with a bar counter instead of a dining table, a mini-living room and a full bedroom with a workplace. It was separated from the kitchen-living room by a sliding glass partition. It is matte, so it does not block the sunlight, but at the same time ensures the privacy of the sleeping area. The hallway was left isolated, so that street dirt will not get into the room.
