Designer Nadezhda Tokareva shared the secret of beautifully decorating the bed with pillows and choosing posters and paintings for the walls. As well as other techniques that we can see on a real example.
Recently we published the apartment of designer Nadezhda Tokareva. Nadezhda has arranged a small three-piece for herself with her husband and little daughter. And she shared with us her favorite techniques that you can take note of.
1 lampshade over the dining table
Designing lighting scenarios is one of the most important stages in creating any interior. Traditionally, we need a common overhead light and a local one. The lampshade over the dining table is one of the local scenarios. In Nadezhda's apartment, this is a vintage model made of frosted glass. A separate switch with a dimmer light intensity controller is provided for the lamp. You can make a brighter or softer light.
"The lampshade over the table is my favorite technique, which I use in almost all projects. This element creates a very warm and cozy atmosphere of hugge. With him, every meal turns into a special, almost festive event," Nadezhda shares.
2 Works by novice artists or other art instead of ready-made posters
In the interior of the designer there are several examples of such a non-standard approach to wall decoration. The first is a painting that hangs in the kitchen next to the window. It was bought from a famous Ufa artist for only 300 rubles, the author arranged a sale of her works.
The second example is a gallery on the wall in the living room, where the designer used the "the more diverse, the better" technique. "In the hanging there are paintings by very famous adult Ufa artists, a young and fashionable artist, as well as finds from Avito. Of great importance is the baguette design of paintings, which I also did completely myself," says Nadezhda.
And the third example is in the nursery. This is a portrait of Hope, which my daughter drew in kindergarten, and then decided to cut along the contour. "I was upset at first, but after thinking about it, I decided to play this moment. I picked up a suitable frame and a passepartout of a complex muted color, against which the drawing looks very advantageous," says the designer.

I try never to use ready-made posters printed on paper or even canvas. I think they are devoid of energy and lifeless. Instead of the usual poster, it is better to look for inexpensive works by novice artists or wait for a sale from an established artist. You can search on sites like "buy-sell" or by subscribing to them on social networks.
3 Different chairs around the dining table
And another favorite technique of Hope, which she applied to the dining area. Chairs of different designs are arranged around a modern table made to order by a local factory, but they are united by a neutral range and natural textures.
"This technique helps to make the space more interesting, non-monotonous," the designer comments.
On the right in the photo is the Cesca chair, its design was created back in the 20s of the last century. The seat is made of rattan. There is also a soft chair of the Czech factory Eton Sobeslav (in the center), this is a sample of the design of the 60s.
4 Asymmetry of decorative pillows on the bed
What makes the interior finished and visually attractive? Not only assembled and installed furniture, but even such "little things" as a made-up bed.
In her bedroom, the designer decided to abandon the use of identical decorative pillow covers and build a perfect symmetrical composition. There are three decorative pillows in different frames. And it looks great!
5 Vintage
Items with a history have firmly taken their place in the list of trends. But Nadezhda Tokareva used them not so much for the sake of fashion, but out of sincere sympathy for vintage. So, in her apartment, in addition to dining chairs and a lampshade, which we mentioned above, there are vintage bedside tables in the bedroom, an armchair in the living room and a newsstand console in the hallway.
They give the modern renovation a touch of history, a sense of the life of several generations in this apartment.
