Unconventional combinations, active patterns and bright shades at the heart of the palette share the secrets of working with color that will help create a special atmosphere in the house.
The video listed all the techniques from the article
1 Saturated color at the base of the palette
If you want to make the interior of the room evoke emotions and actively affect the mood, you will have to take a non-standard approach to the choice of colors. Usually it is made up in the proportion of 60/30/10, where 60% and 30% of the surfaces in the room are decorated in neutral shades, and the remaining 10% are allocated to the color accent. The basic colors include beige, white and gray. They are combined with each other to get a calm palette that will not get bored. Sometimes a muted green, blue or brown is added. The color accent at the same time just helps to make the space more lively and interesting, but does not greatly affect the overall perception.
Make the second primary color in the palette more noticeable: 60% will still remain neutral, so the room will not visually press. But 30% of light shades of blue, pink, yellow or saturated green will noticeably enliven the interior and set the appropriate mood. Do not forget that the accent 10% should successfully echo the chosen shade. As a cheat sheet for the selection of combinations, you can use a color circle.

2 Color patterns and geometric shapes
Another technique that will help to create a certain atmosphere in the room, to use deep saturated colors. But it is difficult to use them as the basis of the palette so as not to overload the space. Therefore, it is easier to reduce their number, but to highlight them with the help of other visual patterns. For example, our eyes immediately cling to patterns, ornaments and strict geometric shapes like straight lines, triangles and circles.
Even if the repair is already over, you can add bright shades to the finish. For example, draw stripes or polka dots on top of already painted walls. Or pick up patterned curtains, plaid, carpet. Bright posters and small decor will also help: candlesticks, vases, candles.

3 Bright colors where there is good lighting
To make bright shades look harmonious and uplifting, it's not enough to just add them to the interior. It is necessary to make sure that the colored surfaces are well lit. In a dim dark corner, even the warmest and most cheerful shade will not look so beautiful, and sometimes even repulsive.
To begin with, determine the area of the room that is illuminated by the sun for the longest time during the day. This is the perfect place for something bright: for example, a large yellow armchair or an accent green wall. Then add several artificial light sources to this area: put a floor lamp on the floor or a lamp on a shelf. So the bright zone will be sufficiently illuminated on cloudy days or in the evening.

4 Colors-associations
We all have our own associations with each color: both pleasant and not so pleasant. To influence the mood in the room, it is enough to remember which shades cause you the right emotion.
First of all, decide on the role of the space that you are going to design. For example, at the desk you want to feel inspired. So, you need to remember and understand where and when you felt inspired. Perhaps it was on vacation, when you were surrounded by a lot of bright ethnic patterns and colors: blue, orange, yellow. Choose the right shade and feel free to use it in decoration, furniture, textiles and accessories.

5 Unconventional color combinations
If you want the interior to be original and memorable, you should avoid not only neutral, but also too popular combinations. Usually these are simple and understandable pairs: for example, white and blue, yellow and green, pink and gray.
Of course, there is no escaping from the rules of creating harmonious color combinations. But instead of the obvious combination of yellow and light green, you can take orange and cane green or pistachio. These shades are deeper, more complex and do not occur together so often.
