1 Replace the hob with a narrower one
At the repair stage, decide on the size of the future equipment and how conveniently it will be located in the kitchen. It is impractical to leave only a few centimeters between the hob and the refrigerator or sink: appliances can deteriorate from the proximity of a hot stove. And splashes of water from the sink will fall on the pan, and the oil will start shooting. Therefore, if you understand that a standard hob does not stand up in your kitchen, abandon it in favor of a more compact two-piece model. This will save space on the countertop, and you will have space for cooking. In addition, such equipment costs less than a full-size one, so you will also be able to save money.

2 Remove unnecessary things

5 Embed the microwave
Usually an impressive part of the space on the countertop is occupied by a microwave. It cannot be hidden anywhere or put away on the far top shelf, because this is the same technique that is used almost every day. But if you do not have enough space on the countertop for cooking, then the microwave oven can be built into the kitchen set or put on special holders mounted on the wall. The space that was previously occupied will be freed up, while it will still be convenient for you to use the microwave.
6 Replace the refrigerator
To allocate additional space on the countertop, the kitchen set can be extended to the place of the refrigerator. So you will get about half a meter of free space on which you can cook. The refrigerator can also be replaced with a more compact one that fits under the work surface. Such a miniature model is quite enough for 1-2 people or for a family where there is little cooking and eating at home.
