The owner liked the series of small female figures so much that most of the repairs were carried out with the refrain "where are we going to put "fat women"?". Designer Galina Sokolova tells about where they found a place and about the mixing of styles in interiors for a family with a little daughter

On the floor there is an engineering board made of dark walnut, Wood Life. The living room area is separated from the dining room by a load-bearing pylon decorated with a gold mirror stained glass window, against which the bio-fireplace looks spectacular. Kitchen, Virs.

The customer is a young mother, a talented organizer and a creative person. Her family loves to travel, but they also spend a lot of time at home. The hostess has German roots, and she wanted to get the most practical and comfortable fusion-style interior in which it would be convenient to raise a little daughter.

First of all, we solved a difficult task with the original layout, where it was necessary to remove the system of long corridors. The result was a bright apartment divided into two blocks — with a guest and a private part. And in the recreation areas, it was possible to place a hall and a library, which have become a favorite place of the family.
After the technical conclusion and subsequent approval, a loggia was attached to the living room, dining room and kitchen area — fortunately, we managed to carry out this procedure before the law was changed. All load-bearing structures have been preserved. Another problem was not very high ceilings. The situation was corrected by the installation of flush—mounted doors - up to the ceiling, this visually increases the overall height of the premises.

Before the start of the project, the customer saw decorative wooden figurines in one of the salons. She fell in love with them at first sight, but they were sold out literally before her eyes, and she had to wait for the next batch for several months. So all the stages of design went under the refrain: "And where are we going to put "fat women"?". At some point, I had a feeling that the apartment was bought for these figures, and everything we do is also for them.

The kitchen-living room is made in light gray tones, part of the walls are decorated with decorative slats. A large bright painting by Vladimir Govorkov, which depicts the Russian alphabet, was hung over the sofa. This is the business card of the house, the special pride of the hostess.
Flush-mounted doors and baseboards, cornice lighting, large open spaces support the restrained and laconic character of the rooms. And in order not to be completely boring, we have introduced decorative elements in the Art Deco style into the interiors.

Opposite the front door is the hostess's library, made according to my sketches and supplemented with paired sconces in the Art Deco style. A little to the right, 24 compositions based on the pilgrimage to the holy places, collected by the customer in a common panel, were placed on the wall.

The same laconic shades of gray were chosen for the bedroom as in the guest part. A comfortable bed, dressing table and chest of drawers create a sense of comfort. There is only a soft muted spot light in the room, which does not spoil vision. From decorative lighting — only hanging lamps above the bedside table.

In the nursery I wanted to create a cozy atmosphere for a little girl. For the accent wall, the wallpaper of the Russian company Wall Street was used, they were made to order for this room. The print in the form of a cute city street created a fabulous atmosphere — in shades of pale pink and soft gray and brown.
