Before the reconstruction, the house was not very comfortable layout, it was all cut into small rooms. The new owners, a family with three children, did not really like this option. In addition, the rooms were planned so that the view of the ocean (which is right next to the house) and the garden were hidden. Architects from the Alexander bureau helped solve these problems & However, after a thorough renovation, the house acquired a completely different look — with rooms filled with light and stunning views of the ocean and the garden.

"The house had no "character", and there was also no rational beginning in the space," recalls the chief architect of the bureau, Jeremy Bull.
The architects decided to change this situation and in the new layout they allocated areas for active recreation and children's games, there was also a place for corners with a more calm and contemplative atmosphere for adults.

The central part of the house is now occupied by a spacious kitchen with a dining room and a breakfast corner. All cabinets are made of American oak in warm tones, and panels of paler European oak were chosen for the ceiling. The decoration of this part of the house is marble floors made of uneven inserts of stone of different grades — Grigio Firma, Grigio Lana and Carrara.

You can have dinner in the dining room, sit down and drink coffee or lemonade at the kitchen island or sit in the breakfast corner, which is located next to the bay window. Its shape refers to the style of P&O (Pacific & Orient Line), or in other words, the style of cruise liners with their streamlined organic shapes and rounded objects — this kind of modernism was popular in Australia in the 1930s.

Through the high arched doors, you can move from the kitchen to the inner garden, where there is an outdoor recreation area. The architects continued the motif of smooth lines and organic forms in the courtyard — from the round table in the summer dining room to the bending of the steps and paving the paths with rounded elements.

On the ground floor of the house there is a room for games and parties, there is also a spacious living room with a designer sofa, which faces the ocean waves. An Afghan carpet with an abstract pattern and a pair of triangular marble coffee tables give this room a playful mood that the architects sought to emphasize.

The interiors of the second floor are made in more subdued colors, but also reflecting the beauty of natural colors (soft gray, light sand, pale green).
In the master bedroom, for example, the walls were decorated with decorative concrete, softened in hue compared to the brutality of the loft "rough" walls. Gray marble and terrazzo were used for the bathroom cladding, playing in contrast with the mosaic floor pattern.
