Jean Liu Design Studio has completely rethought the interior and exterior of a century-old house in Dallas. Here's what it looks like now

This house in the American Dallas belongs to a large family with two children. The father is an entrepreneur, the mother is a housewife, the children study at school. When they bought it, everything here looked completely different: the facade was made of red brick in the Tudor style, inside — desolation. Jean Liu Design studio designers were invited to transform the old house, who creatively approached the matter and completely redesigned both the exterior and interior. We started with the facade, which was first repainted white, steel doors and unusual gas lamps were installed.

The interiors are decorated in a modern style with light references to the classics. The owners wanted everything in their house to be "like in a boutique hotel": comfortable, luxurious, calm. And the designers of Jean Liu Design have made every effort to create the most relaxing atmosphere. There is not a single random detail here, every detail is carefully thought out. Take the wallpaper in the dining room: they were ordered from the manufacturer, Aux Abris, via Instagram (an extremist organization banned in Russia).

I had to tinker with the stairs leading to the second floor. Initially, it looked completely different and was very annoying to the owners of the house. "Every time we met, they invariably asked if something could be done with it," the designers say. As a result, it was completely redesigned, and now it has a simple design and a minimalistic black-and-white appearance. Black graphic railings enter into a visual dialogue with an unusual lamp that was hung in the stairwell.

If the living room, dining room and entrance areas are decorated in black and white with the addition of warm beige-brown and cream shades, then for the bedroom of the owners of the house, the designers chose a more saturated calm range. Deep blue in the design of the bed is complemented by delicate pink, cream and golden shades.

The children were allocated their own separate space — the attic. The designers painted the walls dark blue, put a bright orange sofa in the center, and arranged double beds in the niches. The little inhabitants of the house are delighted with their new home, as, indeed, are their parents.
