The apartments are designed for the life of a mature woman, her privacy, rest from worries, meetings with friends.

Customer and tasks
A girl turned to the designer Anastasia Semenova with a request to arrange an apartment for her mother. "Mom lives alone, leads an active lifestyle, is fond of art, travels a lot. My task was to create a pleasant urban space where I could retire and take a break from worries about grandchildren, invite friends and place all the personal belongings of the owner," says Anastasia.
Layout
An apartment is considered an apartment, that is, an uninhabited space. The developer rented it as a one-bedroom apartment, a separate bedroom, a kitchen-living room, a bathroom, a small hallway. Since this is an apartment, the redevelopment could be carried out freely, but global changes to the needs of the customer's mother were not required. What have you done? The partition between the kitchen-living room and the bathroom was removed, now they are united by a wide arched opening.

A closed dressing room was separated from the bedroom to accommodate all the hostess's belongings. And they built a small partition to harmoniously integrate cabinets in the kitchen.
Finishing
For finishing, they chose paint (on the walls), laminate flooring imitating herringbone parquet, porcelain stoneware in the bathroom for marble and gray stone. Stucco was used to decorate the walls. The wall behind the headboard and the corridor wall are decorated with moldings.

The stucco decor made the corridor not monotonous and helped to neutralize the effect of a narrow space. In addition, this is a reference to the classics and French interiors, the author of the project sought to create a mix of styles.

Storage systems
They decided not to fill the small space with cabinets, and for this purpose they provided a place for a dressing room. The only closet is located in the hallway, it is built-in, designed for outerwear.

In the living room area, a high open shelving was thought out for the extensive library of the customer's mother.

The kitchen was decided not quite standard. The upper cabinets were abandoned so the space looks more airy and light. But the lack of storage was compensated by column cabinets, which are built into the wall bordering the bathroom. A refrigerator, an oven and even a dishwasher under the oven are built into the same columns. Such a decision required precise calculations on the part of the furniture designers, but everything was successful.

Lighting
The scenarios of light were designed on different levels. There are ceiling spotlights in the hallway, there are two swivel spots near the shelving in the living room. There are vintage lamps above the dining table and in the bedroom. The walls of the corridor are also decorated with vintage sconces. Above the bed there are two sconces for reading in a modern design.

The bathroom also uses modern spot light. According to the author of the project, the combination of vintage and modern lamps in this interior once again allowed to emphasize its mixed character: classic techniques, a light retro atmosphere and modern comfort.

Anastasia Semenova Designer, author of the project
In my projects, I often start from the architecture of the building in which the room is located. So, in this residential complex during the reconstruction, the developer preserved a mosaic panel created in the era of socialist realism. Clients are adherents of classic European interiors. These two circumstances led to the idea of mixing the classic style with modern objects and lamps of the 70s, close to the mid-century style. In addition, the small dimensions of the apartment, large windows and high ceilings reminded of French interiors. I wanted to fill the apartment with modern art objects, on the shelf in the living room you can see the work of a young French artist Isabelle Deprins.
