By creating a completely new interior, designer Anastasia Zarqua managed to preserve the spirit of the place and the charm of the old house. Smart interior solutions and vintage items helped in this.

Customer and tasks
This apartment in an old house, an object of cultural heritage, is owned by a young girl. The main wishes for the designer Anastasia Zarqua were the design of a separate dressing room and a living room with the possibility of isolating it. It was also important to arrange the workplace, since the hostess is still studying.
There were no wishes for the style and image of the interior, as such, the designer took the initiative. It turned out to be a space at the junction of classics, Scandinavian style and vintage.

Redevelopment
The original layout of the apartment is corridor. Along a long narrow corridor there were entrances to the kitchen and two rooms. The bathroom is at the entrance to the apartment, and the bathroom is along the corridor next to the kitchen. Anastasia suggested a small redevelopment.
At the expense of the far room (it was designated as a bedroom) and the corridor, a spacious dressing room was allocated. A wide doorway was made in the wall between the kitchen and the living room to unite these areas. A kitchen with a gas stove and a column, according to the general rules of redevelopment of residential apartments, it should be separated by a door or a sliding partition. According to the author of the project, in this case, approval was obtained with the opening due to the peculiarities of the house, there is only one residential apartment on the entire floor, and the rest of the premises have the status of non-residential. Both the living room and the kitchen were left with closing doors from the corridor.

It turned out to neutralize the effect of the "corridor" layout, without losing the functionality of the space, but, on the contrary, increasing it.
Repair and finishing
Renovation of an apartment in an old house is not an easy process that requires increased attention to communications and to all structures. So, here, before starting repairs, all the walls were removed and new ones were erected. This was necessary because, according to the author of the project, the old ones could not withstand any loads. Before the renovation, the gas column was located in the bathroom. We made a project to transfer it to the kitchen.

Natural materials were used in the decoration. There's paint on the walls. On the floor in the living rooms there is an engineering board laid with a herringbone. There are tiles in the kitchen and in the hallway. In the bathroom and bathroom, the tiles were combined with staining. The lower part of the walls is tiled, where water will fall, and the rest are covered with paint.
Ceilings of 3.6 meters are emphasized by high ceiling cornices. Also, the image is complemented by high baseboards. Initially, the apartment had high doors to the living room and bedroom, even double. The dimensions of the openings have been preserved, the doors with glass transoms add grandeur to the rooms and allow you to trace the connection with the era of the construction of the house.

Furniture and storage systems
A spacious dressing room, which was allocated as a result of redevelopment, allowed not to force the rooms with cabinets. In a narrow corridor, they would simply fill the entire space.

The only cabinet is located at the end of the corridor at the entrance to the apartment, where it will not interfere with movement.

Cabinet furniture, including the kitchen and two bookcases in the living room, were made to order from plywood. The kitchen is covered with enamel, and the bookcases with oak veneer. A gas heater, a built-in refrigerator, a dishwasher and a washing machine were hidden in the headset in the kitchen. Of course, we did not forget about the gas hob and the built-in oven.

For small things, a chest of drawers in the bedroom, a cabinet in the living room. The workplace is also located in the living room. In the bathroom there is a cabinet under the sink for various hygiene items.

Vintage furniture was also used in the project. In the living room there are restored chairs "Hera", produced in the GDR in the 60s. After the restoration, they acquired a new (trendy today) upholstery made of light fabric-boucle. In the kitchen there are restored dining chairs from the Ligna factory. They are of the same period of the 60s, produced in Czechoslovakia.
Lighting
The general lighting was decided by modern spotlights, but with the help of chandeliers and sconces, the designer added vintage charm to the interior.

There are both stylized lamps and authentic vintage. For example, a chandelier in the living room of the 80s of the USSR, and above the dining table of the Italian production of the 70s.

Anastasia Zarqua Designer, author of the project
We wanted to design the interior in a relaxed style with vintage elements and keep the parallel with the house. To make an apartment in the style of minimalism in the house of 1905 there is no flush, there will be no spirit of that time. We chose a palette of natural shades so that there was a lot of air in the interior and it could be easily decorated. In order for the interior not to seem "licked" or too strict, I advise you to use vintage items after restoration, they will add comfort and the feeling that you are using items with a history (if, of course, the style of the interior allows). I liked the experience of working with local furniture and textile manufacturers. Don't chase after foreign manufacturers, ours can do no worse, and they are ready to experiment.
