ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE HOUSE: From the previous owners got the repair of twenty years ago, so the apartment required serious transformations. During the dismantling work, the brickwork was opened, which they decided to keep in the hallway, as well as load-bearing beams with traces of formwork, which they also decided not to plaster, but to emphasize.

ABOUT THE LAYOUT: The windows of the apartment face two opposite sides — east and west. As a result of redevelopment and combining the kitchen with an adjacent room, it was possible to open the space, fill it with light. A double-glazed door was chosen for the bedroom, through which the corridor is illuminated by the bright sunset rays of the sun.

ABOUT THE KITCHEN: In the kitchen, the sink was installed opposite the window — this has always been the dream of the landlady of the apartment. High kitchen cabinets were installed along the opposite wall, and in the center of the third wall there was a stove and a hood in retro style. The main decorative design of the kitchen was an old brick, which retained the brand of the factory.

ABOUT CUSTOMERS: This is a young family with two children, boys of three and six years old, as well as two husky dogs, known for their mischievous disposition and a French bulldog — and a thoroughbred cat Devon Rex. It was necessary to arrange a comfortable space so that the hostess could do household chores and look after the children, there was an opportunity to gather relatives and friends at a large festive table.

The owners liked the expressive elements of the loft style, rough surfaces, textured materials. At the same time, the apartment had to look bright and spacious. The main wish is the choice of natural eco—friendly materials. And the furniture was selected in such a way that it did not suffer from the teeth and claws of pets.

ABOUT SPACE ZONING: The most important thing in this project is that with the help of the layout, it was possible to zone the apartment in full accordance with the request of the owners: a kitchen with a large work surface and spacious cabinets-columns for storage, a full-fledged dining area for 8 people, built-in storage systems.

ABOUT THE MEANING OF COLOR: There are three interior doors in the apartment, and they are all different colors. A bright blue one with facet glazing leads to the master bedroom. The door to the nursery is neutral white, matching the entrance door opposite and the white facades of the built—in wardrobes. And the gray door in the bathroom is matched to the color of the walls and ceiling, which creates the effect of a "box". This is probably the darkest room in the apartment.

in the living room there are 3 zones — a dining room, a sofa and a work area. In the dining room, a teak bench was placed by the window, for which a soft mattress was sewn. Now it is a favorite place for all family members at the table.

ABOUT THE LANDSCAPE OUTSIDE THE WINDOWS: Windows in all rooms are made in dark graphite color with a layout. There are no curtains in the living room, and in the nursery and bedroom they are as simple as possible. The dark design of the window frames emphasizes the beautiful landscape outside the window, especially in autumn, when the larches are golden.

ABOUT A BED MADE OF WATER PIPES: Special attention was paid to the selection of the master bed. There was no model available that would meet the wishes of both spouses, so it was decided to make the bed to order. The main highlight was that it is made entirely of water pipes and fittings.

For comfort, a soft headboard was added so that you could read before going to bed, and the wall was decorated with a decorative panel imitating old concrete. By the way, the manufacturers of the bed themselves liked the result so much that it was included in the production lineup.

IN THE NURSERYthe working area for children was arranged along the window, installing a massive oak countertop. There is a lot of natural light during the day, and spot ceiling lighting is provided at night. Niches for built-in shelves were made on the sides. One of the walls in the nursery was given over to children's creativity. Part of the wall was painted with magnetic slate paint, and marker paint was applied to the remaining areas, which can also be used to draw.

ABOUT AN UNUSUAL FIND: During the dismantling of the old floor trim, we found a treasure instead... flea nest! The workers were bitten, they had to curtail work and call the sanitary service. Therefore, when working with the old fund, we recommend, if possible, getting rid of the "legacy" of the previous owners.

The light window from the kitchen was kept in the bathroom, changing its shape and design. It stretched all over the wall above the kitchen cabinets. A successful solution was to install a double sink. The pedestal for it was made to order from metal frame and wooden panels. The wet zone is lined with marble mosaic by Bianco Carrara, and the sink area is lined with Spanish granite. But the main decoration of the bathroom was a semi-built bathtub on paws.
