A family from Brazil moved with their youngest teenage son from Sao Paulo to Miami and turned to designer Daniela Saliba from Daniela Saliba Studio with a request to redo their new apartment. "Customers are open and easy—going people, they like to receive friends at home, without ceremony. Therefore, it was important for them to integrate the kitchen into the living room space. By the way, my husband cooks very well," Daniela recalls.

The clients met Daniela via the Internet: they saw her work on a social network, wrote that they were going to move to Miami, and agreed to work together. "Exactly a year later, the family came to me to show photos of the purchased housing. We made a small repair and invested in lighting, decoration, joinery and floor replacement," the designer recalls. "The furniture is almost all new, the customers took from Sao Paulo only memorabilia, several works of art and a rocking chair that once belonged to the owner's father."

In the new apartment they wanted to create a modern, cozy and uncluttered interior with a kitchen combined with a living room. In addition, they asked to make a study and a place for cycling for the head of the family (he is fond of triathlon). The only change made to the original layout was a large dressing room, for which the designer slightly reduced the bathroom space in the main bedroom.

There are many doors on one of the walls in the living room, and Daniela made them almost invisible by removing the jambs and painting everything in one color.

A calm palette with shades of gray, sand and green was chosen for the rooms, floors of the same color were laid everywhere, and cabinet furniture for the living room, hallway, the boy's nursery and bathroom were made according to sketches that Daniela drew.
One of the highlights of the project was a large—scale panel of 35 photos on the wall between the kitchen and the home office - these are portraits of family members, 3x4 in size. "The owners add new photos when one of the relatives gets married or a child is born to one of them," says the designer.

A spacious balcony with a picturesque view of the ocean and the beach has been made a universal space — it is easy to rearrange furniture depending on the situation. You can sit alone with a book or a cup of coffee or get together and chat with friends, enjoying the panorama and the evening sunset.

"The main problem was to fit into the interior of the new apartment old things that the owners brought to Miami from Sao Paulo"

In the hallway, the wall is decorated with a mandala sculpture made of 34 tennis rackets of the head of the families.
