For her apartment in Sochi, designer Ekaterina Radchenko chose not the usual "seaside" aesthetics, but the classic English style

My husband and I love traditional English, Scandinavian and American interiors. The ideas for the design of this apartment were prompted by the design of the house — floor crossbars are visible in all rooms. In order to keep the ceiling height at the level of three meters, I decided not to sew, but, on the contrary, to emphasize them. Each crossbar is framed with stucco decoration, and the color differs from the main tone of the walls so that the stucco looks massive.

We did without redevelopment. At the same time, the storage is organized quite interestingly. In the hallway, symmetrically from the front door, there are cabinets: one for outerwear, the second for household purposes, which houses a washing machine and household chemicals. It was possible to place both a shower and a bathtub in the bathroom, while the room remained spacious.
Initially, the apartment was planned to be bright, familiar Scandinavian. But in the process I wanted to add intimacy and depth
The kitchen area is only 11 m2, so I gave up hanging cabinets to make the space look easier. For the same purpose, pencil cases with built-in appliances are painted in the color of the walls. Decorative techniques based on a combination of traditional ornaments and colors work well in small bedrooms.

Initially, the apartment was planned to be bright, familiar Scandinavian. But in the process, I wanted to add intimacy and depth. At first, the saturated green wallpaper of the Swedish brand Borastapeter appeared in the bedroom, and then this shade "flowed" into the hallway and kitchen.

Personal stories are associated with many items of furniture in the apartment. The mirror for the hallway was found in my parents' attic by neighbors at the dacha - they planned to send it to the landfill. I literally took it out of a pile of garbage, washed it and brought it home. The console table top under it was created by my good friend and part-time excellent carpenter. He also made all the cabinet furniture for the project. But the legs of the console are the base of a Finnish sewing machine from the middle of the XX century, which I got as a dowry from my grandmother.

Bathroom. Mirror, IKEA. There are tiles on the walls, Kerama Marazzi. There are tiles on the floor, Dvomo Timeless.
