In the old apartment, we managed to create a comfortable and stylish space, thought out for the new owner.

Customer and tasks
The apartment is located in a unique house that was built at the turn of the thirties and forties by architect D.D. Bulgakov. It was intended for employees of the People's Commissariat of Communications of the USSR. The house has two front facades, an incredible exterior. Today it is known as the House of the People's Commissariat of Communications.
The owner of the apartment in this house is a young girl, a plastic surgeon. She is a versatile and bright personality: she loves traveling, art and architecture, visits the conservatory, and is interested in the history of Russia. She had a wish for designer Anna Andreeva, which the author of the project herself formulates as follows: "To create a fresh, refined and deep interior. I needed to preserve the romanticism of the Stalinist architectural style by adapting the interior to a young dynamic girl and modern decorating techniques."

Redevelopment
In the original layout, it was a two-bedroom apartment with two corridors, separate bathroom and toilet. The peculiarity is that one of the rooms, actually located "in the kitchen", was planned by the designers of the house as a maid's room. The hostess wanted to get rid of it, and also to enlarge the corridor and combine the bathroom with the toilet. And so they did.
When the kitchen was enlarged at the expense of the room, a kitchen-dining room turned out. In order to comply with the norms, they refused gas in the kitchen. During the remodeling of the bathroom, it was also possible to increase the passage to the kitchen, using the area of the corridor.

Finishing
Finishing materials were chosen in accordance with the concept of the interior and the wishes of the customer. There is paint on the walls in the living rooms of the study and bedroom, the layout is made with moldings to emphasize the classical orientation of the interior and coordinate it with the preserved historical stucco on the ceiling.

In the hallway and in the kitchen decorative plaster with silk effect. "Easy to care for, easy to restore in case of chips," Anna comments on the choice. An engineering board was laid on the floor in the bedroom and office. Tiles were chosen for the corridor and kitchen.
The kitchen apron and the section of wall above the headset are the accent details of this area. On the apron there is a golden-colored ceramic tile with a relief. About the solution with grout, Anna says: "The seams are not rubbed with ordinary grout, but worked out with real potal with gold leaves. He worked as a restorer artist. We didn't find the right grout color, so we resorted to a more spectacular method. It is not erased, it is not afraid of water."

Above the upper cabinets there is a crown headset, as the author of the project called this element. The stained glass window is made of tinted mirror. "An elegant accent was needed to complete the whole composition of the kitchen. With high ceilings, we didn't want to break the proportions, the kitchen is quite standard height, and the upper part required decor. Tinted mirror in anthracite color. There are dark shades in the technique, and we support them," Anna comments.

The bedroom also has a papered area. The niche remained from the original layout, there was a closet. We decided not to sew it up, but to use it with benefit. They picked up a sofa according to the size of the niche, and the wall was covered with wallpaper with an animalistic zebra print in golden-white shades.

Furniture and storage systems
The number of furniture and storage systems was thought out according to the needs of the hostess and the style of the premises.

In the hallway there are two spacious wardrobes with mirrored facades, which adds grandeur to the space. In the study-living room there is a bookcase and a wardrobe, they stand symmetrically on both sides of the sofa. There are two closets in the bedroom, and opposite the bed there is a one-piece composition of a chest of drawers, a TV stand and a dressing table. They are lined up in a row, uniform in style of execution and color, but different in height.

In the kitchen there is a corner set with a window sill area. The upper cabinets are only on one wall. For a beautiful perspective, a showcase is built in at the entrance to the kitchen, where the hostess keeps the dishes. It is made with a backlight.

Lighting
The lighting is selected according to the style. The general scenario of light helped to create spot built-in and overhead lamps, as well as ceiling chandeliers. The author of the project actively used cornice lighting and illumination, which emphasized the stucco and niches in the walls (in particular, in the bathroom). Wall sconces are used as additional light sources.

Anna Andreeva Designer, author of the project
In this interior, deaf, deep colors coexist with bold and confectionery. In the study, the aristocratic amaranth color of the walls is complemented by a very dessert color of the cabinets. In the kitchen, bright blue is supported by tea rose-colored walls and an accent gold apron. In the bedroom, large volumes of soft sponge cake on the walls are decorated with an indigo bed, a burgundy sofa and a chest of drawers in juicy berry colors. The corridor works on neutral contrasts of black and white. He collects all the rooms and stabilizes them. There is no clear style, they ended in the 18th century. The entire interior was assembled according to the laws of composition, color, relevance, combination of textures and textures, according to the rules of ergonomics. Work was carried out with the client. Interior is mathematics, psychology, materials science and infinite analysis.
