The apartment is located in a 1961 brick house in the center of Moscow. The customer asked designer Ekaterina Parshintseva to create an apartment "in the spirit of Paris", as she is in love with this city. It turned out unusual!

Customer and tasks
The author of the project, Ekaterina Parshintseva from the RodenHome studio, describes her customer as follows: "She is ambitious and romantic at the same time. He is fluent in English and insanely loves everything French. He works in the field of education and loves horses, has a rank in equestrian sports. He listens to alternative music and reads a hundred books a year."
The hostess was looking for an apartment that would suit her for a long time, she needed something in the center of Moscow, but in a quiet secluded place. And such an apartment was found ten minutes from the Belorussky railway station, in an old "Khrushchev" house and in a condition that urgently needed repair.

The new interior had to match the spirit of the hostess, and the main wish was to create the atmosphere of Paris. "Paris in her view is bright, free, with a slight touch of antiquity and moderately self-mocking," says Ekaterina. There were, of course, practical tasks: a separate dressing room, a place to store a library, a bath, a full bedroom and a laundry area.
Redevelopment
An important condition for the redevelopment was the possibility of its official approval. Initially, the apartment was a classic "Khrushchev": a small kitchen, an even smaller bathroom, two rooms, one of them a walk-through.The designer proposed a redevelopment, which made it possible to realize all the wishes of the hostess in terms of functionality. So, the entrance to the kitchen was made from the room, dividing the space with a wide opening and providing a sliding glass partition.

Directly opposite the entrance to the kitchen, an entrance to the bedroom was organized, which is closed by the same partition. It turned out to be an enfilade. Part of the bedroom was taken under the dressing room, which can be accessed from the living room. The corridor that led to the kitchen was put to good use. Part was taken away for the refrigerator extension, the other part for the expansion of the bathroom to fit a full bath and a laundry area: a column of washing and drying machines.
Finishing
In the decoration, materials were chosen that would help create the very spirit of Paris, but at the same time they became the background for spectacular furniture. French paint on the walls. The surfaces were also decorated with moldings, and high stucco cornices were placed under the ceilings. In the living room behind the sofa and in the bedroom behind the headboard of the bed, wallpaper with bright floral patterns was pasted.

They also "played" with painting in the bedroom, drawing geometric shapes in pastel shades. An engineering board was laid on the floor in the living rooms.

The kitchen is the most neutral room in all the apartments, here they used lighter paint and white tiles on the floor with black decor. There are marble tiles on the apron.
In the bathroom, you can learn something "oriental". On the walls there is a combination of marble tiles, blue paint and bright mosaics (in the bath area).

In the hallway, for practicality, tiles were also laid, identical to the decoration in the kitchen.
Furniture and storage systems
The dressing room turned out to be large within the framework of this apartment of almost 6 squares, and she took on the main "load" of storing things. Bookshelves were placed on the wall in the living room opposite the window. A banquette was also installed there, and the wall above the banquette was decorated with a mirror. This is not only a reading area, but also a place to try on outfits, it is convenient to get out of the dressing room and evaluate your image.

In the living area, the main role is played by a bright yellow sofa, which looks even more advantageous in combination with wallpaper. Opposite the sofa is a chest of drawers with a TV. The dining area is located on the border with the kitchen. We chose furniture in a classic style, close to French chic. On the chairs there are images of horses so beloved by the hostess.
The bedroom has provided niches for storing books that should be at hand for evening reading. The headboard plays the role of a bedside table: you can put your phone down or set an alarm clock.

The kitchen is only 5.5 squares, but it was filled with everything necessary. Thanks to the redevelopment, there was a place for the refrigerator to be built in. The headset was placed at an angle, one of the sides is located directly under the window, where the sink was brought out. The upper cabinets are only on one wall.

In the bathroom there is a storage space in the form of a bedside table under the sink and a locker above the column with appliances.
Lighting
Lighting scenarios were thought out in the traditional way. General ceiling light overhead spots that do not stand out on the ceiling. Additional scenarios accent lights. This is a floor lamp next to the dining table, by the sofa, pendants with lampshades in the form of cups over the kitchen work area, sconces at bookshelves and over the bed for reading and atmospheric evening light.

Designer Ekaterina Parshintseva, author of the project:
It was important to create the atmosphere of Paris in the interior, so classics were chosen here, but modern and bright for a young free disposition. Classic stucco molding and classic shapes of furniture and lamps are used, as well as a classic tile pattern in the kitchen. In residential areas, playing with color adds a "Paris" style. The interior image developed quite quickly: the geometry of the rooms with a small amount of stucco, furniture and storage systems were determined without much difficulty. But the grinding of details lasted a long time: colors, textures were selected especially carefully. Everyone liked the result of the work without exception. The space of the apartment has changed unrecognizably, it has found its new spirit of courage, brightness and, oddly enough, it has its own history. A few months after the move, the customer noted that she had become more determined and freer in life. She began to dress brighter, finally left her unloved job and did what she had long dreamed of.
