According to the original plan, the interior was planned closer to the modern classics, with lighter and airy shapes and furniture. But in the process of implementation, the hostess realized that she liked something else: thoroughness and traditions. The designers embodied all the wishes of their customer.
Customer and tasks
The owner of this apartment is an accomplished woman, a former judge. The apartment is intended for temporary stops, rest in the center of the cultural life of Yekaterinburg, but the hostess lives outside the city all the time. For interior decoration, the owner turned to the designers of the studio "Beautiful House" under the direction of Olga Kazantseva.
Layout
"We were lucky with the layout," the designers immediately said. The developer has provided a large kitchen-living room in the apartment, a separate bedroom, a dressing room at the entrance and a fairly spacious bathroom. The bedroom also has a balcony. Redevelopment was not required.
Finishing
The hostess immediately said about her love for the traditional style, but in the original concept the space was conceived as close to modern classics. Based on this, we chose high cornices and a wooden engineering board on the floor, which covered all the rooms in the apartment, except for the bathroom. High wooden skirting boards have also become part of the classical composition. But in the process of work, modern classics have become more traditional, for example, several types of light tiles with a marble pattern were used in the bathroom decoration, and on the floor a larger tile with the same pattern in combination with a decor of small black squares. The walls are painted in light tones warmer in the common area and cooler in the private (bedroom).
Storage systems and furniture
Since the layout provided for a dressing room, this greatly facilitated the interior visually, it was not necessary to design a lot of cabinets. There are only two of them. One in the hallway, where all the clothes are hidden (the sections closer to the bedroom are designed for everyday things, and closer to the front door for outerwear). The second one is in the bathroom, where there is a built-in washing machine and dryer. In the bedroom, the closets were abandoned, there was quite enough of a chest of drawers for personal belongings and a bedside table.
As for the kitchen, it was designed to order, the upper row of cabinets with partial glazing, which visually also reminds of the classics. The color of the facades of the kitchen and the closet in the hallway is identical to the color of the walls, which dissolves massive furniture in space.
The dining group consists of classic models of a round table on one leg and Viennese chairs.
The furniture filling of the bedroom is also from a series of traditional classics: a bed, a bedside table and a chest of drawers made of solid wood were chosen from the same collection.
"Despite the fact that the furniture was coordinated in the project, mainly in the style of modern classics, with more concise fashionable forms, during the implementation the client realized that she did not like such things at all. So we had to make new combinations on the go. The bed with a fashionable padded backrest was replaced with an array bed, respectively, the bedside table and chest of drawers changed, and even the chandelier all went into a more traditional look, which turned out to be the cutest for the hostess. This is one of our few projects where the so-called set is used: a chest of drawers, a bedside table, and a bed from the same collection. And one of the few projects where the chest of drawers and the cabinet are factory-made, and not made according to sketches specifically for the project. But in this context of the interior, in which traditions and the usual way of life are in the first place, such a choice turned out to be the most appropriate," the authors of the project share.
Lighting
Lighting scenarios are also traditional: a common ceiling light in the form of tracks in the kitchen-living room, hallway and chandelier in the bedroom, an additional one in the form of a sconce at the sofa, at the chest of drawers in the bedroom, as well as a small reader by the bed. By the way, the sconces at the chest of drawers were repainted in the color of the walls themselves in the original they are a classic white shade.
The only non-classic solution that the hostess agreed to is the LED backlight under the bedside table in the bathroom, which works under the motion sensor. This is a proven technique by designers, which they recommended to the customer as a very convenient light comes in handy at night, does not blind the eyes.

The style was dictated by the owner of the apartment, we respected her wishes. The space itself was quite suitable for the decoration in the classical style: high enough ceilings, the right height of the window, a lot of sunlight. And the style of the clubhouse also had such an interior decoration. We carefully used the stucco decor to a minimum on the walls, simple smooth ceiling cornices of the right proportions for our height, high floor skirting boards, which immediately gave the interior a refined look. The decor was selected based on the idea of intelligent housing, bought for recreation and enjoying the cultural life of a big city. The crystal of the candlesticks and vases echoes the crystal chandelier in the bedroom, the mother-of-pearl coffee table perfectly fits into the color scheme. Since our budget was limited, all the textiles for curtains are from Leroy Merlin. We bought fabrics, thought out the design, picked up the decor and sewed everything ourselves. Even with a small budget, you can choose the perfect textile to create a full-fledged image.
