Color, light and good mood — this is the recipe for a cheerful cocktail, on the basis of which the design project for this apartment was created

The customers, a married couple with two children, set the task quite accurately. It sounded something like this: a modern, functional interior filled with bright colors. "The owners wanted lightness, air, clean and straight lines. I immediately realized that we were talking about elements of the mid-century style," says designer Alyona Vlasova.

Decor, Ceramum. TV cabinet and shelf, Treku. Magnetic lamps, "Tsentrsvet".

"The apartment was originally a square box with three-meter ceilings, huge panoramic windows and one supporting column. This gave quite a lot of room for creativity and allowed us to create a harmonious space where functional zones smoothly flow from one to another."
"The heart of the apartment has become a spacious kitchen-living room. Here you can chat, cook, have breakfast, lunch and dinner, meet guests, watch movies, read books and even work at a full-fledged desk, if suddenly the times of "remote" repeat. It is a kind of house within a house, a space where the main events of the family take place. From the living room you can get to the bedrooms: the parent's with its own dressing room and bathroom, as well as separate children's rooms for daughter and son."

"The main task was to make the interior relevant regardless of trends, but at the same time to give it a special character. Colors move from room to room. The mint shade of the kitchen facades appears on the shelves in the girl's nursery. The color of the walls in these two rooms is also very similar, but in the living room we used paint, and in the children's bedroom — textured wallpaper. The fashionable cornflower blue shade from the walls of the parent's bedroom passes to the furniture facades in the son's room, and the deep Norwegian green from the tiles in the corridor turns out to be in the work area."

"In the hallway, the colors of the floor tiles are transferred to the walls and furniture, due to which the corridor seems more spacious. The boundaries of the space are also expanded by a large mirror at the entrance. They decided not to make the door to the dressing room. Instead, a curtain was sewn from a fine wool pleasant to the touch. A warm floor is built into one of the walls of the dressing room — in this place you can now quickly dry children's jackets and mittens after long winter walks."

"The interior as a whole is cosmopolitan. All the pieces of furniture and decor came to us from different countries, but nevertheless there is a dialogue between them. For example, in the living room, curtains with a print in the spirit of the 1970s combine all the colors used in the design of the room. The corrugated carpet is similar to those that were popular in Europe in the middle of the last century. We decided to abandon the chandeliers in the living room in favor of thin and weightless magnetic tracks and plaster ones — only atmospheric retro suspensions hang over the dining table. Upholstered furniture was also chosen as laconic as possible and on thin legs, so as not to overload the space."

"The kitchen is designed specifically for the needs of the family. The hostess brought a detailed list in advance with a description of what will be stored in each of the boxes. An unusual detail was an additional freezer, which we hid under the countertop."

In the parent's bedroom there is a reading corner: the wooden window slopes turn into an oak window sill and a bookcase. The wall behind the headboard is decorated with sound—absorbing panels that form a geometric pattern - the customer loves the work of Pete Mondrian very much. Opposite the bed hangs a round art object with a surface resembling water ripples. It creates an interesting game of reflections and makes the interior more dynamic."

"The bathroom attached to the bedroom is quite small, so we decided to make it as bright as possible. A mosaic in the shower area and a bright painting by French artist Francois Sauk give it a special charm."

"In my son's nursery, the accent element was a desk with an author's base. It is composed of geometric figures carved from beech. TRX tape mounts are provided near the ceiling so that the owner of the room can play sports without leaving the house."

"The bathroom in the hallway right from the threshold causes solid positive emotions. After all, its main theme was soap bubbles, which we all loved so much in childhood."
