The designer used unusual color combinations in the kitchen, hallway and bathroom. The living room-bedroom turned out to be in calmer shades to make it easier to tune in to rest.

Customers and tasks

The owners of this small apartment in the Moscow region are a married couple, both work in the IT field, sometimes remotely. To designer Alexandra Kachurina, they had a request to design an inexpensive, but comfortable and functional interior: with a workplace, spacious storage systems, necessarily with a bathroom, not a shower, and also visually expand a small space. 

Redevelopment 

Global redevelopment was not required, the owners wanted to have a separate room that would function as a living room during the day and a bedroom at night. Therefore, we settled on a folding sofa as a sleeping place. In order to have natural light in the hallway, the partition between the kitchen and the entrance area was removed. The developer provided a separate bathroom, but it was combined at the request of the owners.

Finishing

The walls were painted in all areas, laminate flooring was laid on the floor in the room, in the kitchen, even in the hallway. Several materials were combined in the bathroom. There are tiles on the floor and in the bath area, which the landlady fell in love with when viewing options in the store. A background tile of a green shade and paint were picked up for it, which was used to decorate the walls, where water would not get into. 

The designer's solution for the visual expansion of the space from the finishing side of the baseboards, which were painted in the color of the walls. According to the author of the project, this does not "cut the space". The doors to the bathroom and the flush-mounted room, they are also painted in the color of the walls in these areas. In addition, a single floor material throughout the apartment, excluding the bathroom, also contributes to a visual increase in the space is not divided into small areas. 

Furniture and storage systems

The project provided built-in wardrobes in the room and in the hallway. In the hallway it is suspended, at the bottom they left a place for outdoor shoes. The wardrobe is provided for outerwear, ironing board, mops and buckets.

Both storage systems were made to order. The kitchen is also custom-made. We made a corner set with built-in appliances, including a refrigerator, oven, dishwasher. The latter is small in size by 45 cm, it was not possible to fit a large one due to limited space. Thanks to the ceiling-high cabinets, there is enough storage space. 

In the bathroom, the storage system was also custom-made. It occupies the entire wall. A washing machine is built into the niche of the cabinet. The toilet bowl installation is also placed on this wall. There is a place in the closet for storing bed linen, towels, detergents.

Lighting

General lighting is solved by built-in spotlights. Additional scenarios vary depending on the room. So, in the living room-bedroom there is a ceiling chandelier, a floor lamp by the sofa.

In the kitchen there is a chandelier over the dining table and kitchen lighting. In the hallway, the author of the project planned to highlight the niche for shoes under the wardrobe. It turns on under the sensor, it is enough to bring the foot. In the bathroom, as an additional lighting, there is a mirror and a shelf above the washing machine.

Customers appreciate simplicity and color in the interior. The hall has the brightest color, orange. I wanted people to immediately understand at the entrance to this apartment that the owners of the apartment are bright and open. The kitchen is a continuation of the hall, so in addition to the color of ochre in the corridor and orange apron, green facades of the headset were offered. The living room is a multifunctional room, it is both a bedroom and a study. Therefore, a calmer and more noble pink-brown color was used here. The budget for the decor was low, so most of it was ordered on the Wildberries website. There you can always find a beautiful and budget decor, and with a competent selection, which the decorator was engaged in, it will look expensive and stylish.
