We are repairing our apartment for the second time in a year. This was caused by a ridiculous flood associated with a construction defect from the developer. At first we thought we would change quite a bit, but in the end only two cabinets and a kitchen remained from the old furniture. We knew for sure that we didn't have enough color in the past interior, and also, when choosing new finishing materials, first of all we paid attention to their water resistance.

The very idea of a studio apartment implies that there is not much space in it, and it was impossible to radically change the layout. The main room is divided into two zones: kitchen and living room. The latter turns into a bedroom in the evening. In the kitchen, we made a bar island, which simultaneously serves as a storage space, a cooking surface and a dining table.

Designing the living room area was especially interesting. All sizes had to be adjusted up to a centimeter, since the sofa in the unfolded form practically rested against the TV cabinet. At the same time, the legs of the pedestal had to be located at a certain distance from each other so that a robot vacuum cleaner could pass between them.

By the way, we also designed this cabinet ourselves. I wanted it to be both restrained and bright to match the whole apartment. Therefore, we decided to combine a rich green shade, wood and geometric ornament in the decoration. The main highlight was the house for the cat in the central part of the pedestal. But for some reason the cat didn't like it, so now we keep records in this house.

The main design technique that we used throughout the apartment is zoning with the help of materials. The kitchen, hallway and balcony are highlighted with color spots on the floor and different wall finishes. We did not limit ourselves in the choice of shades, creating complex contrasting combinations.
