At the height of the pandemic, a new Brooms bath complex opened in St. Petersburg. As the name implies (brooms in English — broom), its main concept is the author's soaring with birch and oak brooms. The sauna occupies the ground floor of the Azimut Hotel. The ideologist of the project and the author of the interior Dmitry Kruzhalin sought to create an island of serenity in the city center, immersing guests in the atmosphere of the forest.

The whole complex is divided into two main parts: a public hall and a chamber area designed for a small company. In each hall there is a zone for tea drinking, relaxation after soaring, showers and changing rooms. The common space also offers a hammam and a massage area with a Vichy shower, and in the private part there is a hayloft and a hot and cold font.

The whole interior is made in dark natural tones. In the design of common spaces, wood with untreated bark is used. Each log of dry pine is hand-picked at a sawmill in Karelia. In a large steam room, kelo logs are arranged vertically, imitating the slender rows of trunks in a coniferous forest. In the small steam room, with the help of a special finish, it was possible to preserve the aroma of a 300-year-old tree.

For the sake of cleanliness, the team abandoned wooden fonts. The fact is that it is not possible to wash the wood, and a favorable environment for the reproduction of bacteria is created in it. For the same reason, ceramic mosaic is not suitable: numerous seams are difficult to clean every day. As a result, the choice fell on stainless steel.
