Designer Tatiana Novikova had two main tasks: to design a small space so that it looked visually larger, and to meet the budget of up to 1 million rubles.

Customer and tasks
The owner of this apartment turned to designer Tatiana Novikova to design the interior for subsequent rental. The introductions were not easy: no alterations, a limited budget and at the same time a multifunctional space. I wanted to make a small apartment visually spacious. Looking ahead, everything worked out!

Layout
The studio had a classic layout for this type of housing: an isolated bathroom, a combined kitchen and room space, a balcony and a single window. Since the owner did not want the redevelopment, they worked with the zoning of the space. A small work area was organized on the balcony.

Closer to the window is a sofa with a TV. The sofa is folding, also performs the function of a sleeping place.

They left the kitchen in its place, decided to replace the standard dining table with a bar counter, it is also an element of the zoning of the kitchen and living room. Spacious storage was organized in the hallway.
Finishing
Paint was chosen for the walls. The main color in the room is light creamy. The entrance hall is decorated in gray-olive color, including the entrance door. Contrary to stereotypes, they did not choose a light shade for the far zone from the window, which only deepened the space and placed the right accents, helped zoning. The same color goes into the room in the form of tiles on the apron. There are also accent areas on the wall with the TV made two large arches in blue and terracotta shades.

These colors are repeated in curtains and sofa upholstery. There is blue paint on the balcony, which slightly cools the area filled with bright natural light.
Laminate flooring was chosen for the floor in the room. The entrance hall and kitchen are decorated with terrazzo tiles. The same tile is on the bathroom floor, and several types of tiles have been combined on the walls of this area: background white and accent blue. There is also a gray-olive one, in the form of a pedestal under the sink.

In short, the space was decorated in uniform colors and overlapping finishes, which created a boring interior and visually helped to expand the small apartment.
Furniture and storage systems
The main storage system for clothes, household items, bed linen is a large 65 cm deep closet in the hallway. It was made to order.

They decided to leave the kitchen without upper cabinets, so as not to make the space heavier. We chose from ready-made IKEA modules, Hoff. The need to fit into a small budget led to an unusual decision. They also decided to make storage under the bar, for this zone they chose bases from the assortment of upper cabinets, they just fit in size.

The facade of the counter from the side of the room was decorated with a relief panel, the same, by the way, is decorated with a cabinet under the sink in the bathroom. This is the manual work of a designer and a foreman.

As additional storage, a small console at the entrance with a mirror, a console under the TV and a shelving on the balcony.
Lighting
Overhead spotlights were chosen for the main light scenario. Additional large pendant lamp with round glass shades above the bar, sconces on the sides of the sofa, suspension at the console in the hallway, kitchen lighting, curtains and mirrors in the bathroom.

Tatiana Novikova Designer, author of the project
This small apartment was purchased by the customer for rent. It is located in a complex of houses with a large number of studios, and my task was to design the interior so that it compares favorably with the rest. It was necessary to fit all the zones in a compact space without redevelopment, since the customer did not have time for its design. And the main wish was to fit into the minimum budget, including all furniture, appliances and even textiles. The interior turned out to be fresh, colorful, with a reference to the Neomemphis style. Saturated shades do not look provocative and do not "press" due to their naturalness and proximity to the natural palette. Only 5 basic colors are used in the apartment, which are repeated in detail in each zone, which makes the space uniform, but at the same time colors help zoning. Light scenarios also support the idea of functional zoning. Black overhead lights on the ceiling create a certain rhythm, making the interior more lively, and their turning ability makes it possible to create a beautiful play of light and shadow on the surfaces of walls and furniture. The highlight of the project was a modern chandelier above the bar. With the help of design techniques, it was possible not only to solve the main problem of a clear distribution of space according to its functional purpose, but also to distract from its modest dimensions.
