Cafe Moos in Amsterdam by Studio Modijefsky

A new cafe of the Moos chain has opened in the western part of Amsterdam. The interior was traditionally decorated by Studio Modijefsky, who drew inspiration from the surrounding architecture

The new cafe Moos is located near Het Schip, a residential complex designed in the style of the Amsterdam school. The buildings have gathered all the distinctive features of this architectural movement of the early XX century: ornamental brickwork, rounded shapes, an abundance of various materials and decorative elements. All this is reflected in the interior of the institution, created by Studio Modijefsky.

The bar occupied the main part of the space. The stand is made of wood and decorated with brass and marble inserts. Behind it is a large mirror with neon lighting. Zigzag lines seem to go around it from two sides, visually expanding the boundaries of the hall.

At the back of the cafe there is a mezzanine floor, which is reached by a staircase with elegant metal railings. In the corner of the mezzanine there are soft banquettes covered with leather and fabric. There is a built-in backlight behind them, which emphasizes the texture of wooden panels and glossy tiles on the walls. The rest of the space is furnished with custom-made tables and vintage chairs.

At the entrance to the cafe, a terrace is organized, which is covered from above by a multicolored semicircular canopy. Its perimeter is bounded by wooden partitions with inserts of textured glass.
