What you need to consider before choosing a project

Before choosing a project and design of a country house, you need to estimate the size of the garden plot, its location. Why is this necessary? There are norms that relate to what distances from roads, neighboring buildings need to be observed. Here are the main indicators.
And then there are fire safety regulations. And, according to them, the distance between residential objects depends on what they are built of. So, if the buildings are made of non-combustible material, a gap of 6 m is allowed. But there should be at least 15 m between completely wooden buildings.
There is a concept of building area. This value can be found in the administration of the municipality of the city or district. In most cases, it is allowed to build a building that will occupy no more than 30-40% of the plot area.
In addition, it is not allowed that snow descends from the roof to the neighbors' plot or precipitation flows down. This is taken into account when determining the size of the roof.

Country houses outside and inside: photos and descriptions of popular styles
Everyone has their own idea of what a beautiful cottage looks like. Often these ideas differ greatly. We will discuss the main trends in architecture and interior design of such buildings.
Minimalism

Laconic forms, simplicity, restraint are popular in interior design, architecture, and exterior design of buildings. The decor of such buildings is usually minimal, limited by the use of different textures in the decoration of facades. For example, plaster, wood. At the same time, large-area glazing is often used. Interiors usually correspond to the exterior: beautiful, but concise, practical furniture, achromatic colors, natural palette, minimum decorations.

Rustic style
Cute, cozy, beautiful (as in the photo) country houses in a rustic style are usually richly decorated, they are the opposite of minimalism. Provence, chalet, rustic, Russian log house such buildings are harmonious in the natural landscape, create that very unique atmosphere of country life.

Often they are decorated with carved verandas or terraces. A lot of wood is used in the interior decoration. A feature can be considered an abundance of textiles, mostly natural, bright cage prints, floral drawings are allowed. Furniture can be either deliberately rough or cute-elegant, with cozy upholstery, carving.

Scandinavian style
Simplicity, elegance, comfort, so you can briefly describe such buildings. When designing, much attention is paid to functionality, quality, and environmental friendliness of materials.

Externally, the Scandinavian house in the country, as in the photo, does not differ in an abundance of decor. It is characterized by simple, clear outlines, pitched roof, wood trim. And, of course, large windows inside should be a lot of natural light. In Scandinavian interiors, light finishes and textiles are common. Furniture should be simple but practical, made of natural eco-friendly materials. In such interiors, the decor can be used both actively and discreetly.

Barnhouse
This architectural direction is very close to the village. Such objects look like a farmer's barn. But, of course, only conditionally, in general outlines. They have a pitched roof, elongated shape, large panoramic windows from the entrance group.

As a material for construction, as well as finishing, wood is usually chosen. But inside such houses can be very different. For example, the rustic style with its rough, as if raw natural textures of wood and stone will suit. Or his relative country with massive wooden furniture, warm palette. But soft minimalism or scandi will look no worse.
