The owners of the house did not want to get an emphatically modern "marble" interior. On the contrary, they needed more color and cozy details. Designer Tatiana Baklanova made just such a space.

Customers and tasks
The owners of this house are a family with a young daughter of preschool age. They love traveling and collecting paintings. When the family turned to designer Tatiana Baklanova, the house had already been built. They didn't want to change the layout, it met their requirements. As for the interior, I did not want to make an emphatically modern space, "marble", as the designer describes it. At the same time, of course, it was important to create modern comfort: an equipped kitchen, a laundry area in one of the bathrooms, a dressing room and thoughtful storage systems.

Layout
The house is one-storey. The layout provided for a kitchen combined with a living room, while the kitchen area is located in a kind of niche. There were also two bedrooms (one of them with a bathroom), an office, a large bathroom. At the entrance there is a dressing room and a boiler room. An exit to the veranda is organized from the living room area. Also, the total area includes a fairly large porch at the main entrance.

Finishing
English paints were chosen for wall decoration because of their quality and beautiful palette, where there are deep rich shades. They also used wallpaper as accents on sections of the walls in the living room area, in the bedroom (here also on the ceiling), the nursery, even in the bathroom, where they are located around the perimeter of the room with an elegant border. Laminate flooring with a herringbone pattern is laid on the floor in residential areas.

In wet and "dirty" areas, bathrooms, kitchen, hallway used tiles. Bearing in mind the request of the owners not to use the popular imitation of marble, the author of the project chose actual prints: geometry, patterns resembling Metlakh tiles, oriental motifs are involved somewhere, as in the master bathroom. Also, there was an actual background "wild boar".

High baseboards, cornices and moldings completed the image of the interior at the junction of modern style, English classics and French Provence.
Furniture and storage systems
Designing new storage systems, the author of the project took into account the existing possessions of the owners and the volume of cabinets in the previous housing, increasing it by 30%.
The U-shaped kitchen was designed with only one row of upper cabinets, freeing up space and making it visually easier. On the other wall there is a window, and on the third there is a shelf for various trifles and decor, it was allocated with the same tile as on the floor, which formed an interesting roll call in finishing materials.

In the hallway, they decided not to make a dressing room in the form of a separate room, left a niche and designed built-in wardrobes, also hung a hanger in this area.

The bedroom has built-in wardrobes, where there was also a place for an ironing board. Built-in storage systems were not designed in the nursery, as this room will inevitably change as the girl grows up. Now there is a small free-standing locker.

The shared bathroom has a column made of a washing machine and dryer, and there is also a cabinet under the sink. There is also a cabinet in the master bathroom.

Lighting
The owners did not want to use LED strips as a backlight, so they preferred traditional options in the design of light scenarios: chandeliers (even in the bathroom), sconces, suspensions. There was also a practical solution without spot overhead lights, but less utilitarian than hidden lights.

Tatiana Baklanova Designer, author of the project
I believe that there are no pure styles today, it is interesting to mix them. In this interior you can see elements of English classics (skirting boards, moldings), motifs of French style and Provence (wallpaper ornaments and a French Christmas tree on the floor, floral ceiling in the bedroom), Moroccan patterns in the bedroom bathroom. The unifying factor is the color, it gave a sense of integrity and unity of the premises. The beginning of the color history was laid by the existing paintings of customers (oil painting). The interior also clearly reads the characters of the owners of the house thoroughness and love of detail, accuracy in the form of a layout with axial lines in the interior (fireplace opposite the window and on the same axis with the table).
