The appearance of the Salt Town has been formed for several centuries. Under Peter I, there was a Particular shipyard here, on the site of which later warehouses of wine and salt appeared. Today, the Salt Town is a bohemian quarter with a pedestrian zone, a French bistro and museums. Dom Boutique Hotel is located on Gangutskaya Street in a 19th-century mansion. The British bureau Project Orange worked on the interior design: the architects preserved historical details and created a bright, eclectic space in which the classical architecture of St. Petersburg acquires a new sound.

Dom Boutique Hotel is a chamber and quiet hotel, it has only 60 rooms. In each of them, a set parquet made of rare tree species is combined with a soft pink shade of the walls. Bright accents are designer red cabinets and a king-size bed with a headboard-screen decorated with a floral print. The appearance of the rooms is completed by aged mirrors in gilded frames and velvety textiles. The bathrooms are completely lined with glossy black tiles, which gives the interior a solemnity.

In the lobby of the hotel, Farrow & Ball paint in Offblack shade, softer and "velvet" than classic black, creates an intriguing atmosphere. The staircase is made of natural marble and is illuminated by a crystal chandelier of the limited edition Ice Black Star by Danish designer Sofie Refer.

There is also a cozy, bright library with a fireplace, author's tables and English sofas at guests' disposal. Here you can find books on art, fashion, history and order drinks from the lobby bar. The walls are decorated with works by the St. Petersburg photographer Alexander Kitaev from the Ballet series.
