"This apartment belongs to a young married couple. The hostess is in love with St. Petersburg. She is very inspired by the majestic architecture and the special atmosphere of this city, which we tried to recreate in the interior," say architects Anna and Ekaterina Kalinin and Kirill Karpunin.

"In addition to the aesthetic component, functionality was also important for customers. The original layout made it possible to combine the kitchen, living room and dining room into one spacious bright space. The small bedroom is equipped with its own bathroom and has access to the loggia. We also managed to place quite a lot of storage systems in the apartment, which are part of the interior design."

"In the design of the living room, we used moldings with fillets, which helped to change the usual rectilinear geometry of the door portal and emphasize the windows. Another accent detail was the wooden blinds, which gave the interior a graphic quality."

"When designing furniture, we divided the compositions into specific and auxiliary. So, all the attention in the general space is turned to the kitchen. Classic enamel facades are harmoniously combined with cabinets in wood trim and marble countertops with a beautiful pattern. The marble panel separating the island from the dining group is also made of marble."

"The kitchen composition is echoed by a part of the TV zone, due to which a holistic harmonious image of the entire space is created. A laconic sofa in boucle fabric, complemented by stitching and brass legs, perfectly fit into the interior. These details make it interesting from different angles."

"The neutral color scheme of the interior is diluted by a deep wine shade, which is mainly used in the decoration of bathrooms and hallways. Cabinets in marsala color can be viewed from the dining area, while the main space from the hallway is not immediately visible — there guests are greeted by a composition of a marble console built into a niche with a mirror and a spectacular vintage sconce."

"Special attention is paid to the light in the interior. The landlady and I searched together and bought vintage sconces for different rooms, which then determined the choice of other lamps. The most interesting was the process of selecting the central suspensions over the dining group — the shape, size, and color of the fittings were important here."
