Initially, this apartment, located in the house of 1962, was a swing "three-piece" with an area of 79 sq.m. The main task of designer Natalia Mikulishna was to make it as comfortable as possible for a married couple with two children.

The sofa is made to order by Iriska Brand. The sconces are made according to the sketches of the designer by the glass artist Elena Mikheeva. Chandelier, Kalmar, Austria, 1960s. Carpet, Art de Vivre. Textiles, Marfa Home.

First of all, the owners asked to organize a spacious common area for family evenings. For her, the designer allocated a part of the corridor and delimited the space with a through showcase, which also helped to disguise the load-bearing beam. "The ceiling beams, which were located at a height of two meters from the floor and in some places passed through the entire apartment, we hid in the furniture structures. In the same compartments, it was possible to place a full—fledged built-in ventilation and air conditioning system," says Natalia.

The kitchen is a continuation of the living room, so all the appliances were hidden in built-in wardrobes, made in the same style and shade as the showcase. "There is not a single household appliance on the countertop — they are all hidden behind the facades," explains the designer.

In the master bedroom there was a place for a separate dressing room, which also serves as a study for the owner of the house. In addition, thanks to the location on the ground floor, the designer managed to organize a second bathroom. So, a three-room apartment turned into a five-room apartment.

The house in which the apartment is located stands on the Yauzskaya embankment, and the designer wanted to reflect the spirit of the place in the interior. Classic elements — ceiling moldings, high baseboards and moldings — as well as vintage light helped to achieve the desired effect. "We chose the lamps of the 1960s - at the same time the building itself was built. For the living room, I designed round sconces in the form of a moon. They settled on the wall above the sofa and balanced an incredible antique chandelier resembling the sun," adds Natalia.
