Residents of the Mexican city spend most of their free time on the main square or in the monastery park, communicating with each other. This local tradition formed the basis of the project of the new Wayé Hotel, the territory and interiors of which are inextricably linked with the surrounding landscape. In addition to the main building of the hotel, the Arqmov Workshop studio has designed a public space that should become a point of attraction for guests and citizens.

The hotel building consists of several rectangular volumes. In the central volume there is a reception, a cafe, a multifunctional space for events and guest rooms, and in two side wings there are rooms for commercial rent. All rooms have balconies or outdoor terraces with views of the city. In the decoration, the designers used simple materials: concrete, stone and wood. The subdued palette of shades and the play of light and shadow created by the lattice facades emphasize the beauty of natural textures. The bright patterns of handmade tiles and textiles made of natural fabrics refer to traditional Mexican ornaments.

When designing the hotel, the designers adhered to the criterion of ecological design. Passive ventilation, solar panels and a well water softening system helps to optimize natural resources and reduce energy consumption, and the lush greenery of plants protects the territory from the bright sun and allows guests to relax comfortably on the terraces.
