The ordinary fate of an ordinary historical building in the center of Moscow: the house underwent a major reconstruction with the preservation of the facade decoration. It would seem that there is nothing to cling to — the game of classics would turn out to be unnatural: the building has low ceilings and small windows. A minimalist interior, on the contrary, would look too monotonous here.

The idea of a modern mansion loomed gradually. As if in De Chirico's painting, with the help of images of classical elements of architecture, decorator Ekaterina Fedorchenko created a space where different styles enter into a dialogue, delicately prompting each other the right words. Neutral color palette: bleached oak, Carrara marble, natural shades of silk, like thin air, sharpen the perception of artistically assembled furnishings. Modernist furniture in spirit, some of the lamps made in the Art Deco style, echo a variety of textured surfaces, smooth boiseries and art paintings.

The contrasting, almost black hall immediately immerses those entering into the anticipation of traveling to an unusual house. The ground floor is fully open for receptions — a spacious living room with two lounges, a TV and a fireplace, behind which there is a dining room. A small kitchen, serving more for serving than cooking, is hidden behind glass sliding panels.

Chandelier, Van der Straeten. On a custom-made table, Workshop Workshop No. 8, change shops, Ginger & Jagger, Booroom Gallery. The floor is made of marble.

The master bedroom is located in an attached glass penthouse. Its interior resembles the cabin of luxury steamers that crossed the Atlantic in the 1920s and 1930s. The similarity is emphasized by the stained glass windows with the effect of silver rain jets covering the bathroom windows. Of course, it was easier to put the recognizable panels of Rene Lalique, but this "liner", like a time machine, takes us to a wonderful future. After all, metaphors and dreams dissolved in interiors, as in surreal canvases, help us to go beyond the usual logic of everyday life. www.artofdecor.ruThe master bedroom.
