"Home is where the heart is" — these are the words Delia Lachance, one of the founders of Westwing, never tires of repeating when she talks about her apartment in Munich, where she moved not so long ago

Delia has found a suitable apartment for her family in the heart of the Bavarian capital — in an old house, which is literally a few minutes from the headquarters of the Westwing company. Proximity to work was one of the most important factors, because in addition to managing the company, Delia brings up two kids — three-year-old Sky and little Ace.

Everything in this house — from a large living room with a fireplace to a cozy chamber bedroom — is planned and decorated by Delia herself. She believes that furniture should always be chosen according to your taste, avoiding interiors "for show", as from the cover of a magazine. The hostess herself prefers objects of neutral shades: "it's easier to combine them with each other and decor items, especially if we want to change everything in the future."
And one more important point — in this house, because of the small children, Delia created a friendly environment by replacing ordinary glass with acrylic and choosing all the furniture of streamlined shapes, with rounded edges and wood details.
Another key word for this apartment is practicality. So the elegant decor in the dining room is easy to clean, and in the living room there is modular furniture to quickly change the space according to the needs of the family. Delia chose the Sofia sofa from the Westwing collection: "I wanted a model that would be elegant, but at the same time suitable for relaxing and relaxing with the family."

The kitchen, in her opinion, should be an open space so that you can cook freely and communicate with your family: "I also really like to decorate this space with different decor, whether it's a nice dish or a beautiful vase with flowers. After all, open shelves also work as a showcase for accessories, you can put beautiful glasses, designer cookbooks and author's dishes on them."

The fast pace of life and the pandemic have made their own adjustments to our lives, now it is difficult to imagine at least one apartment without a home office. If he's here. "Sometimes I hold meetings right from home — early in the morning or in the evening, after returning from the office. Therefore, it was extremely important for me to organize a comfortable corner for working from home," Delia says.

For the bedroom, the owner chose textured and warm-feeling materials (for example, velvet) and laid soft carpets to create a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere in the room. This is also facilitated by the warm beige-golden color scheme inherent in the entire apartment.

Tip for small bedrooms: lay round rugs. So the space will seem larger, and the edges of the carpet will not interfere with opening the door of the room or closet
