Experts of the Pantone Institute presented us the color of next year a little less than a week ago. This is Viva Magenta, which they interpret as powerful, empowering and joyful. Of course, this color will become one of the trending colors not only in web design or on catwalks, but also in interiors.
But, like any trends, the color should be applied correctly. How? We asked the designers.
1 Turn to noble textures in textiles
Designer Alyona Matisova recommends using this color in combination with complex textures. "Magenta will work well in the interior as textiles: velvet curtains, which can be supplemented with gold tassels or fringe, upholstery, decorative pillows, bedspreads. Noble and luxurious perception of this color will make its use in deep complex textures. In addition to velvet, it is corduroy or velour," the designer believes.
2 Use in English style
English style is austerity and moderate classics. Wood, non-screaming colors (deep greens, browns and reds, the latter include Viva Magenta). It is also not uncommon to use wallpaper with a pattern and textiles with prints in such interiors: a cage, natural scenes.
"The color will look great with other "dense" and rich finishing elements. For example, in combination with rich floral or animalistic wallpaper in the style of William Morris. You can shade and complement the color with accessories in gold, vintage objects, paintings in gold baguettes or graphic elements," recommends Alyona.
3 Complement them with bright interiors
Designer Anastasia Grigorieva calls this color "active and complex". And he says it's for the brave. Her recommendation is to use it in combination with the same saturated complex shades, so as not to lose the charm of the shade.

In my opinion, it is for complex colored interiors, where it will be "on an equal footing" with other shades. An interesting fact is that for the second time the color of the year is a very ambiguous shade, which is perceived by the eye on the verge of warm and cold colors. I think this is a trend towards using a mix of these palettes in the apartment.
Alyona Matisova also recommends experiments. "If you want a bright extraordinary interior, then for a greater effect, the color can be combined with orange, yellow, blue, turquoise and pink," says the designer.
4 Or take it as an accent in a monochrome interior
Calm interiors in neutral light shades are a base that you want to refresh with bright colors, such as Viva Magenta. This is what Alyona Matisova recommends.

If you don't want to create a rich interior, then you can use a shade as a color accent in a monochrome calm space. Use it is limited.
