Designer Vanessa Alexander originally made this house in Malibu for herself. But then she liked another option, and she decided to finish this one and sell it to her friends, with whom she had previously worked on other projects.
The villa was built in the early 2000s in the so-called Tuscan style, which the designer tried to give a new, modern and more American sound.

Most of the windows faced the road, so the first thing Vanessa did was redevelop and place the common areas so that they had a view of a quiet, cozy courtyard. The interior is decorated in bright colors. The walls are covered with white plaster, and on the floor there is a parquet made of restored wood. "We wanted to make something similar to a modern farmhouse in Italy," Vanessa explains.

Vanessa's favorite place in the house was the kitchen with a wood-burning stove and a marble island found in a bakery of the early XX century. Also, according to the designer, the bathroom deserves special attention. "It is luxurious, and at the same time it has a soothing atmosphere, which is created by a fireplace and panoramic views of the mountains and the sea."

"As a result, we managed to create an interior that does not seem new and artificially created. It's as if this house has been around for many, many years, and everything in it looks organic and natural," the designer adds.
