Karmann's Hotel in Svetlogorsk

Designer Olesya Levkovich aspired to create a space where nothing interferes with enjoying communication with the Baltic nature

Karmann's Hotel is located in the middle of a pine forest, the view of which opens from the panoramic windows. Developing the interior concept, designer Olesya Levkovich sought to emphasize unity with nature and create a space that would perfectly complement the forest landscapes. "We wanted the guests to feel the slowness of resort life, feel safe and hear the inner silence and strength," says the author of the project.

The space of the hotel is decorated in bright colors that immerse you in an atmosphere of serenity. At the entrance, guests are greeted by a reception desk made of brass in the shape of a sea wave. "Brass brings elegance to the interior and gives it its own special character, and smooth lines set the dynamics and rhythm."

Marine motifs are also repeated in the design of the glass partitions in the lobby, around which the recreation area is concentrated. Soft sofas are complemented by small side tables made of solid wood. "We preferred natural materials because they age beautifully and look even better over time."

The wine wall attracts all the attention in the bar. "It is made of metal sheets, which we treated with acid. As a result, the structure was instantly covered with rust, which we fixed with a matte varnish."

The most unusual and time-consuming element in the implementation was the Armstrong suspended ceiling, which decorated the toilet room. "We developed the ceiling project as a whole team. And then, together with Yarko studio, we thought about how to highlight this wooden art. The carpenter Irina Bryzhinskaya helped to realize our idea. The builders prepared the system according to our drawings, and for two whole days with trepidation and love we hung all 3740 wooden sticks to the ceiling."
