Images from Marcel Proust's novels pop up in the interiors of the Maison Proust Hotel, but no one regrets the "lost time" here. The appearance of the rooms, created by the famous decorator Jacques Garcia, takes guests into the atmosphere of Belle Époque

The new 5-star Maison Proust Hotel is located in an old mansion in the Marais quarter of Paris. Each of the interiors is somewhat similar to the lines of Marcel Proust, on whose literary heritage the concept of a rich decor is based. To realize this idea, hoteliers Sylviane Sanz and Yoni Aidan turned to the decorator Jacques Garcia, with whom they have already worked on the interiors of Maison Athénée and Maison Souquet.

The journey into the past begins from the very entrance to the hotel, in the lobby, luxurious fabrics turn your head like ball gowns. There is also a winter garden with luxurious decoration, and a library hidden behind curtains with a "sunny" dome inspired by the rotunda at the Opera Garnier. Its semi-darkness and shining ceiling remind of the atmosphere of literary salons where the Parisian elite gathered.

The bar is reminiscent of secular and literary salons with upholstered armchairs and large Venetian mirrors, luxurious carpets and an old fireplace of the XIX century, turned into a counter.Card
To get into the rooms, you need to climb a beautiful staircase with dimmed lights. Corridors upholstered in soft leather lead to 23 rooms and suites ranging from 20 to 100 square meters, and the Marcel Proust suite occupies the top floor.

Each floor is decorated as a tribute to iconic figures of Parisian life at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries — including Jean Cocteau, Sarah Bernard and Colette. Artists, actors and writers close in spirit to the Proust universe have given their names to the rooms of the hotel, each of which is decorated in its own way.

Jacques Garcia created each room as a precious casket, where fabrics, wallpaper and furniture create an elegant atmosphere reminiscent of the bygone Belle Époque. In the interiors, it's like going on a historical journey, forgetting about the pace of life of the XXI century and plunging into an atmosphere of tranquility, refined details and unhurried reflections. Here the lampshades are open books with excerpts from the cycle "In search of Lost Time", and there are desks in the niches, inspiring creativity.

On the lower level there is a spa, reminiscent of the oriental style salons of Aunt Leonie, with whom Marcel Proust spent part of his childhood. The decor of this part of the hotel was done by the masters responsible for the palaces of the King of Morocco. Marble, Moroccan zellige tiles and tadelact plaster decorate the interiors of the spa, which consists of a ten-meter pool, a hammam and three treatment rooms.
