A married couple with two adult children lives in this apartment, located in the center of Moscow. Each family member needed a personal space for work, recreation and meetings with friends. It was also important to create a place where the whole family can spend time together. "The customers wanted excessive luxury: ornate stucco, gold and crystal, combined with velvet and candelabra. We immediately decided that the whole apartment should be designed in a single scale and style, including "children's" rooms," says designer Ekaterina Gracheva.

"We divided the apartment space in such a way that we got three separate private zones — for parents, daughter and son. Each of them has a bedroom, a mini-living room, a wardrobe and a bathroom. In order to avoid a minor separation, we removed the extra doors. For example, in the daughter's room, the dressing room, located behind the headboard of the bed, remained without doors."

"When developing the design, we tried to combine the modern functionality necessary for a comfortable life and the main features of the classical style. The walls are decorated with double frames made of moldings, high baseboards and soft fabric panels. At the same time, the interior items are distinguished by laconic shapes and clean lines. We selected all the furniture at different factories so that it did not look like a single set. In the bedrooms, beds with capito and "ears" are adjacent to the works of contemporary artists and hand-painted wallpaper."

"The heart of the apartment is the living room, which has two corner bay windows of different shapes and sizes. In one of them we marked out a dining table, and in the other we made a reading corner — we put a wide couch, a floor lamp and a coffee table. In the kitchen, hiding behind sliding doors, we deliberately did not hide the exhaust pipe, deciding that an extra pipe is better than an extra drywall."

"The whole interior is designed in a muted range of gray and coffee shades. The main accents were paintings painted to order. For example, in the living room, an impressive canvas by the artist Katya Privalova attracts all the attention, and the wall in the main bedroom is decorated with the work "Narcissus" by Katya Nechaeva. It was interesting to observe how the color palette of the painting changed during the work: from yellow it turned into dark blue with pink drops following the palette in the bedroom itself. In the hall and the daughter's bathroom, you can see the works of the St. Petersburg artist Lilia Kovgan."

The main bathroom. Bra, Savoy. Tile, Provenza Groove and FMG. Plumbing, Duravit.
