Gori & Yoon Studio renovated an apartment in a historic Milanese house and found the perfect balance between the classical context of the space and the actual design

Classic, aristocratic, elegant — all these epithets perfectly fit this apartment on Via Lovanio in the Moscova district of Milan. It is located in an old house and covers an area of 182 square meters. High ceilings with stucco molding, a luxurious marble fireplace, rosettes, decor on the walls and doors — all this was an excellent material that the designers of Gori & Yoon studio had to turn into a modern, comfortable home. And they succeeded.

All the historical architectural details, of which there are many in the interiors, have been preserved and carefully restored: they give this place a bright personality and connect it with the past and history of the house. The walls were painted with a matte pearl-beige paint, which gives the interior a noble aristocratic look and at the same time favorably emphasizes the plaster stucco decor.

The living room was combined with the dining room into one common space. There is a kitchen behind a transparent glass partition covering the entire wall: frames made of black painted metal bring a modern industrial note to the interior and effectively contrast with the classic decor. The kitchen itself is made to order from light oak and Calacatta marble.

For the bedroom, the designers chose the most neutral, calm light palette and diluted it with warm natrual wood. This combination maximizes rest, peace and relaxation. And the abundance of natural light disposes to a pleasant pastime in the daytime.
