Personal experience: apartment near the park for the designer's family

Our residential complex is located next to the park, and when my husband and I first saw the view from its windows, we decided to buy in a second. At that moment I was a very novice designer (I had only a couple of simple projects under my belt). It was a little scary to take on your own house, especially since the "technical stuffing" was supposed to be difficult. At the same time, it was a great opportunity to implement all the bold solutions that are not always suitable for customers.

We clearly understood that the interior should be in tune with the view from the window, and we also wanted it to echo the exterior of the house, the facades of which are decorated with my favorite material — architectural concrete. Natural materials and natural colors were used as a basis. However, they could not find concrete solutions for a long time.

My husband did not respond to my ideas, and I myself understood that "it's all wrong." At some point I was desperate, when suddenly... fate, there is no other way to say it. My husband and I were driving along KADU and accidentally turned into the wrong exit. After driving for a couple of minutes in search of the right direction, we noticed a sign of a natural stone store on the road. Looking there, we were smitten by the beauty of the natural material. Our stone — white granite with quartz veins — made us fall in love with ourselves in an instant. There are no more questions left, our favorite and the main dominant in the house has been chosen. After that, the workflow literally boiled over, and solutions came by themselves.

Granite is an excellent material for a kitchen countertop, it is durable, resistant to damage and can serve for many years. The idea of a classic kitchen with overhead cabinets seemed already hackneyed, I wanted something not banal. Therefore, we decided to abandon the upper cabinets in the kitchen in favor of an apron made of granite up to the ceiling. Due to the active pattern of the stone, additional accents were unnecessary.

In the kitchen, I made a special abmar storage area, in which the coffee machine, kettle and all appliances are hidden. This solution helped to remove visual noise from the eyes and not overload the working part of the kitchen.

The basis was light walls and a chocolate-colored wooden floor, which echoes the red streaks on the granite. Minimalistic solutions in the form of flush—mounted doors, the absence of a skirting board, perfect joints of materials, all this is the merit of our builder Roman and his team.
In the living room, all the furniture is arranged in such a way that it is possible to admire the view from the window. Even the TV model is selected special, on legs. Dining table, "Current furniture". Chairs, Artfabrick. Sofa, Mononova. Parquet board, Karelia.

My husband had one important wish for the bedroom — wallpaper with a black and white print of a tropical forest. We once saw such wallpaper in France in one of the hotels. I found a similar drawing from Wallstreet wallpaper manufacturers. The bedroom area was only 16 m2, but with the help of redevelopment, it was possible to carve out space for a small but functional dressing room.

Our builder Roman made a wonderful sink in the bathroom. I wanted it to be one with the space of the bathroom, the walls of which are decorated with granite. The sink was made of the same material.

However, neither the sink, nor the wall decoration and plumbing became the starting point in creating the bathroom interior, but the key for flushing! I found it on the Internet and just fell in love, if this feeling can be attributed to the flush button for the toilet. It was the color of brushed brass with two round buttons, under each of which a plus and minus sign was painted. In general, the ideal, what else can I say.

Our repair lasted a little less than five months. We started work on May 4, 2022, and on September 15 we were already sitting on boxes of things and opening a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate moving into our first apartment.
