The owner of this apartment likes to cook and conduct tastings for her friends. On a small area of the apartment it was necessary to equip enough space for this. And, of course, to arrange a comfortable and comfortable private area.
Customers and tasks
The owner of this apartment lives with two large Maine Coon cats. She works in the field related to French wines. Designer Marta Loguntsova describes her customer and task as follows: "The girl is an incredibly open-hearted person with a subtle sense of beauty. The main idea of the project was to form a light, airy and at the same time stable space. Places of peace, tranquility and a sense of stability. At home, where you rest your body and soul."
There were also practical tasks. I wanted to design a separate dressing room to get rid of the closet in the bedroom. And also to provide enough seats for the reception of guests.
Redevelopment
Initially, the apartment was a eurodome. This is what modern layouts with a kitchen-living room and a separate bedroom are called. To highlight the dressing room, we decided to "take away" part of the space from the kitchen-living room. Of course, away from the window, since natural light is not essential in the dressing room. Otherwise, we left the layout as it is.
Finishing
Choosing finishing materials, the designer followed the planned concept of a calm space where it is easy to relax and unwind. Therefore, they preferred natural materials and natural colors. There is paint and moldings on the walls. On the floor in residential areas there is an engineering board laid with a herringbone. The bathroom has porcelain stoneware in different shades: white marble and gray slate. The tree was also used in the design of window slopes in the living room. This is an interesting area that the designer has worked on.
"The windowsill area is the highlight of this project. We had to remove the second glazing, which created a space of 30 cm between the second and the first. We organized a wide window sill, which turns into a massive TV cabinet. The entire plane of the window sill and curbstone serves as additional seating. This allowed for an area of 19 sq. m create a room with the maximum number of places where our client's friends can be accommodated. Since it was necessary to mount a radiator under the window, a perforation was implemented on the window sill to release warm air. The perforation is also made under the window sill. The perforated panel is mounted on magnets, and it can be safely removed for wet cleaning or working with a radiator," says Marta.
Furniture and storage systems
The area of the allocated dressing room turned out to be compact 5 squares, but sufficient to accommodate not only a storage space for everyday and seasonal items, as well as a column from a washing machine and dryer, a utility cabinet and a wine refrigerator.
The kitchen was installed at the corner to the right of the entrance to the kitchen-living room. Due to this placement, it is not visible, it seems that the entire area is occupied by the living area. This effect was achieved by the author of the project. But the compactness of the kitchen did not affect its functionality. All the necessary equipment is built in, many storage places are organized due to high cabinets up to the ceiling.
For books and papers, we have provided a place in the bedroom there is a small work table with shelves for these purposes. In addition, there is a place for them in the TV cabinet and under the wide window sill in the living room.
In the bathroom, the storage was thought out in the traditional way: a cabinet under the sink and a locker above the toilet installation.
Lighting
Different light scenarios allow you to create a different mood in the interior. From bright to intimate, from working to cozy. In this project, the lamps are also a decorative component.
For example, a rather voluminous, but visually light golden chandelier in the bedroom and minimalistic copper-colored suspensions on the sides of the bed add a touch of luxury to the interior. At the same time, a black table lamp adds graphic and rigor. There is also a spot light in order to cover the entire room.
In the kitchen-living room, the general lighting is solved by a built-in linear lamp around the perimeter of the room. There is a decorative pendant above the dining table, and two sconces above the sofa. In the hallway there is the main ceiling lighting, a beautiful sconce above the console, which turns into an art object when the light is on, and the illumination of a large mirror.
In the bathroom there is a spot light, suspensions at the mirror and hidden lights of the lower part of the bath, shelves in the toilet area. This allows you to create a soft unobtrusive lighting that sets you up for relaxation or, conversely, awakening.

Now there is a trend to mix quite a large number of styles in one room, and we are no exception. How many-sided a person is, so many-sided is the interior as his reflection. For this apartment we used three main directions: contemporary, neoclassical, eco-style. Contemporary is actively manifested in the forms of furniture, in some finishes. All light sources and techniques chosen for their glow are made in this style. For softness and air, neoclassical elements are very delicately introduced. Wavy moldings are enclosed in strict geometric frames, which is a pure sign of this style. All ceilings have expressive neoclassical cornices. Ecostyle also took its place in this interior. The decoration of almost all furniture is wood. There are natural textures in textile upholstery and decor. And, of course, natural colors. This symbiosis created a unique single volume. An entourage suitable for the specific person for whom it was created.
