Designer Natalia Fedotova combined modern minimalism, Wabi-sabi style and motifs borrowed from the nature of the Urals in this house. And I did it in the shortest possible time — in less than a year!

Kipling believed that the West and the East could not come together, but in this project they met and became friends. Natalia Fedotova's customers, a married couple with two children, bought a house in a unique natural place where there are practically no neighbors and telephone communication. "That's why getting to it was a real quest," the designer adds. — The navigator stopped working at some point, and I had to strain to remember the way."

The house in such a wilderness, of course, was not bought by chance — its owners wanted privacy and freedom. Asceticism, silence, the fine line between the natural environment and man — all these concepts (or sensations) that are important to customers are part of the philosophy of Wabi-sabi, the Japanese understanding of beauty.
It was decided to add a bit of the East to the interior, and in general — to build it in harmony with the surrounding nature, to create visual diversity and tactile pleasure with the help of natural materials. The super task is to build a house in which a person will feel that he is in the right place. While he's here, the world can wait.

The living room is designed so as not to distract attention from the large panoramic window. The view of the forest and the river fascinates both in winter and in summer, always gives a hint of life, regardless of the time of year. The interior advantageously emphasizes seasonality and is comfortable for any period. In winter — due to its texture, warmth and tactility, and in summer due to neutral shades, lightness of textiles and volumetric lamps similar to a cloud.

In the bedroom, silence is especially felt, contributing to switching and immersion in the quiet country rhythm of life. A lamp with a lampshade that looks as if it is hand—knitted, a "homespun" rug and a panel on the wall - everything here is very quiet, soft, homely. And this is not a trick of the senses: all the lamps and panels in the project are Russian-made, all upholstered furniture and joinery are made to order according to the designer's sketches.
