"The apartment originally had a fairly spacious corridor, a bathroom, a kitchen and a room, but because of its angular position and a glazed balcony it seemed very dark," says Valentina Labodina. — When creating the layout, it was important for me not only to open it to the light, but also to fit everything necessary for my client in it. Thus, a dressing room, a bedroom, a living room, a workplace, a full kitchen with a dining area, a bathroom, an entrance hall and a seating area for guests on the balcony appeared in the interior."

"First of all, we got rid of all unnecessary obstacles that prevented light from entering the apartment. The glazing and plastic panels on the balcony were removed, the balcony door was replaced with a transparent one, and the original openwork fence was restored. We also demolished the wall between the kitchen and the hallway, letting more light into the hallway. At the same time, it was necessary to keep the door between the kitchen and the living area according to the norms. The hinged doors with a glass cover correspond to the architecture of the house, and the facet slightly distorts the transparency of the glass, which allows you to visually separate the living room from the hallway."

"The customer is already an adult woman who is fond of painting. She is in love with her house and the neighborhood, and she wanted the new interior to reflect not only her interests, but also the atmosphere of the place where she lives, the era of the 1950s, in which this area was actively built up. We were lucky and under a layer of brick-red oil paint we found a beautiful oak parquet, which was restored by specialists Parquet Old, which gave the interior authenticity. The hostess also wanted to add items with a history to the interior. So the Polish Stefan chair of the 1950s appeared in this project. We found it on Avito, and the restoration was entrusted to the guys from Pro Kresla. We also found a Romanian sofa from the 1960s in one of the Foreign Ministry dachas, with a very beautiful veneer on the armrests. We have updated the coating and replaced the upholstery in Zanovo Studio."

"In the decoration, I used the traditional combination of light smooth surfaces with honey-colored wood for the earlier period of the 1930s. This is how the window sill in the kitchen and the kitchen set itself are made, which is not as simple as it seems. Between the upper and lower drawers in the architectural niche there are open shelves with a sliding fad. The facade also performs its direct functions, and at the same time serves as an apron during cooking. And on the shelves there is an additional storage area for small items that often get in the way on the work surface."

"In the living room, against the background of smooth white walls, the texture of oak and walnut veneer stands out, from which the original 45° shelving of the Yaratam Design brand and the Native Studio console are made. The marble coffee table and the Primus II metal white suspension from the Swedish company Belid create the necessary balance, balancing the active veneer pattern. The mirror and glass elements also add coolness and create beautiful reflections, and as color accents we used black elements in the decor that bring the whole interior into one."

"The sleeping area is separated from the living room by a wooden screen and accommodates not only a bed, but also a dressing room, which is hidden behind a curtain. We did not use permanent structures so that there would always be an opportunity for space transformation."

"In the bathroom decoration, the choice was simple. On the floor there is a hexagonal black tile with a white grout: this combination was often found in apartments in the middle of the last century. At the same time, there are square tiles with active relief on the walls, which makes the interior more modern."

"Classic objects of Scandinavian design create a bridge between two eras, giving a modern sound to this apartment. And the inspiration for the use of tiles on the floor in the hallway and kitchen was the paving of the Havnegade embankment in Copenhagen. The seemingly chaotic layout of colors is actually carefully thought out and introduces actual dynamics.

It seems to me important when working with the old fund to preserve and rethink the existing items as much as possible, this corresponds to sustainable development. Thanks to simple but high-quality finishing elements, restoration and reuse of furniture and parquet, functional layout and high-quality materials, we managed to create a truly eco-friendly interior that will last for a long time for all its residents."
