A married couple with a son and daughter have been renting this house for the summer for a long time. And then they decided to buy it out and invited the designers of the RodenHome studio in order to update the interior in the shortest possible time of 5 months.
Customers and tasks
The new owners of this house are a family with two children, a primary school-age boy and a preschool girl. Husband and wife are fond of sports, the spouse likes to cook. The girl is engaged in gymnastics, ballet and loves to draw, and the boy is interested in car racing.
The whole family is very hospitable people. They like to gather with friends, families with children watching movies and board games. It was important for them to take into account personal needs in the design and provide places for guests who could not only stay overnight, but also live for some time. With this, they turned to designers Ekaterina Parshintseva and Ekaterina Erokhina from the RodenHome studio.
Layout
The layout of the house suited the owners and did not require changes. On the ground floor there is a large living room, from which there is an exit to the same large terrace, a kitchen combined with a dining room, a wardrobe, a bathroom and a boiler room.
There are private rooms on the second floor. This is a parent's bedroom, a shared nursery, an office and two small guest bedrooms. Of course, there is a second bathroom.
Finishing
The wooden walls were updated with paint. Light colors were chosen for all rooms except the nursery. The nursery has added bright accents in the form of green and blue. Stone was also used in the decoration of the dining room. It decorates one of the walls.
And in the master bedroom there are photo wallpapers at the head of the bed and mirror panels. The bathrooms are decorated with large-format tiles with a stone texture.
Storage systems
The house is used more like a summer cottage, but nevertheless, even for a few months of the year, it is necessary to have comfortable storage systems for things. On the ground floor, the layout provides a dressing room, the entrance to which is located from the hallway. The kitchen is U-shaped, located along the windows, and very spacious. Because of the windows, the upper cabinets are not provided, but there is really a lot of space. In addition, there is a kitchen island installed in the center of this area. Now it is a place for the culinary hobby of the owner of the house.
On the second floor, storage systems are provided in each room. In the master bedroom there is a wardrobe, the design of which is adjusted to the sloping ceiling. And a small chest of drawers opposite him.
The nursery has a low locker and chest of drawers at the entrance, as well as built-in storage systems on the wall under the sloping ceiling. They are integrated into one system with two beds, the beds are placed just under the dormer windows. Each child's bed has a pull-out part so that you can accommodate friends with an overnight stay.
In one guest room there is a wardrobe, in the other a chest of drawers. In the bathrooms, storage is organized in the form of bedside tables under the sinks.
"The furniture was selected taking into account the nature of the customer. So, a barely noticeable safari spirit appeared in the living room, a tribute to the numerous travels of the owner: a skin on the floor, furniture "in the colonial style", a flower stand made of real travel suitcases," the authors of the project say.
Lighting
Lighting scenarios differ in different rooms. In the kitchen, there are linear built-in profiles above the headset, and a chandelier above the dining table. In the living room there are overhead ceiling spots and a flat ceiling light in the exit area to the veranda. The bedrooms have ceiling lights, the master bedroom has bedside sconces.

For such an intense and sometimes very secluded holiday, a calm atmosphere is needed. We repainted all the walls in soft cream colors as a background and deep chocolate for accents. But we decided to make all the rooms with an individual character. The nursery has added brightness with blue and green backgrounds for white furniture. One of the guest rooms was formed in the image of a delicate blue-white room. The other one turned out to be bright and hot with accents of curry color. Since each room has an individual character, the decor was chosen according to the same principle. But what unites him is the animalistic theme, so to speak, the neighbors of the house in the forest.
