The elements and philosophy of the popular japandi style, to which a couple of accents from the ascetic loft were added, helped turn an ordinary apartment into a concise but comfortable place to relax from the noise of the big city and the frenzied rhythm of life.

The choice of an apartment in the new residential complex Shome in the historical place of Fili-Davydkovo is due to the developed infrastructure of the area and a favorable environmental situation. It was planned to rent it out.

Redevelopment
Initially, the housing was a studio with a separate bathroom and a kitchen area. It was necessary to think as much as possible about the organization of a small space for a comfortable life with sufficient, but at the same time inconspicuous storage places and an isolated bedroom with a comfortable bed. The request was for the most versatile design both in the organization of space and in color combinations. The owner of the apartment approved the option of a drywall partition between the bedroom and the living room with an insert in the form of a loft window made of corrugated glass, giving additional light. They decided to leave the hallway, kitchen, and living room united.

Repair
The apartment was sold with a White Box finish. The floor is leveled, the walls and ceiling are prepared for finishing. In addition, the developer installed an indoor electrical panel and network communications (electricity, lighting, Internet cable, intercom and fire alarm). All this was supposed to reduce the time and volume of "dirty" work. But communications, including electrical ones, had to be redesigned for project ones.

The floor covering was made uniform by choosing a durable, wear-resistant, but visually warm porcelain stoneware for wood. Tiles that are identical in shape and size (7.5 × 40.7 cm) to parquet planks. They are laid with a parquet pattern "French herringbone". Therefore, the surface creates a visual and tactile feeling of a wooden floor. At the same time, the ceramic coating is durable, solid, fireproof. It does not react to changes in humidity and temperature, does not change color under sunlight and resists the effects of household chemicals. He does not care about sharp heels, computer chair rollers, as well as water, dirt and reagents from the street.

The ceilings in the apartment are high 3.1 m. The author of the project tried to preserve them as much as possible, but in order to place the fan coil and ventilation pipes, in some places it was necessary to compromise. For example, in the bedroom above the built-in wardrobe, in the hallway and above the kitchen cabinets, the ceilings were lowered. The new partitions are frame with a covering of GCL. The hemmed ceiling is also made of GCL.

The location of the switches is thought out so that they are as convenient to use as possible. The necessary groups are connected to the master switch at the output. One movement of the hand and all the lights are off, and the electrical appliances are de-energized.
Design
There is nothing superfluous in space. The decor is dominated by objects made of ceramics, wool, cotton. Even the role of decorations is played by functional blankets, vases, tables. Accessories seem slightly imperfect, as if made by hand. All this corresponds to the style of Japandi and partly to the modern Mediterranean style. Despite the fact that the budget was quite limited, the architect-designer managed to create a rather "status" interior due to the original decor and noble color combinations.

The composition of a bedside table and an oval mirror in a neutral thin frame maintains a sense of comfort in the bedroom, and at the same time performs the functions of a small dressing table.

Bedside lamps resemble silhouettes of soaring birds with elegantly curved wings. These hanging models bring tangible dynamics and unique charm to the interior.

The color scheme of the bathroom differs from the general palette of the interior. It is built on contrasting black and white combinations with a slight addition of natural shades in ceramic boards on the floor.

Furniture and storage
The living room space is left as airy and voluminous as possible, not overloaded with unnecessary pieces of furniture. The mini sofa can turn into an extra bed.
The tall display cabinet, which serves as a continuation of the kitchen set and partially opens from the living room, is designed for necessary things: dishes, books, decor.

Ana Petkovic, Archstagram Studio
For the last few years, our studio has been engaged in projects in all cities of Russia and the world. Therefore, most of the work is done online. We also worked on this object completely remotely. All materials, colors, and paints were selected over the Internet. In this interior, we tried to adhere to neutral natural shades and shapes that emphasize the japandi style, a kind of mixture of Scandinavian and Japanese, where everything is visually beautiful and functional at the same time. The same color was used for many elements. The result is a space with flowing interconnected zones. Most of the walls were left white. Only a warm gray-beige shade was added to the hallway and the part of the living room coming out of it. The color of cabinet furniture was selected to match the color of the walls in order to maximally dissolve it in space. I saw the apartment for the first time just before the shooting. However, the result exceeded all expectations and definitely pleased. The design and decor formed a harmonious picture, which became possible thanks to extensive experience working with materials and textures, as well as a good knowledge of the range of brands used in the project.
