British supermodel Kate Moss has repeatedly proved that she is connected with the design industry not only by the ability to pose beautifully at photo shoots. In collaboration with the Topshop brand, she has created several fashionable clothing collections, designed champagne glasses in the shape of a breast for the London restaurant "34", released wallpaper by her own design, and also tried herself as a decorator by decorating the Barnhouse country house in Gloucestershire.

Kate was invited to take part in the project by the co-owner of the design studio YOO inspired by Starck and her long-time friend John Hitchcox. "He called and asked if I wanted to design an interior for a secluded house located in the woods," Kate recalls. — A house in the forest! I've been dreaming about this ever since I visited Johnny Cash!"

"I don't like minimalist interiors, where there are only black and white colors. I prefer eclecticism"
Kitchen. In addition to the spacious dining table, Kate also suggested making a special breakfast bar. The dining table and bench were designed by David Haddock, a friend of Moss.
The 5,000—square-meter building with five bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and a swimming pool was not an easy task for a novice decorator. Moss enlisted the support of designer Katie Grove, with whom she had previously designed her own apartment, and started working. She decided to follow the principle that she used when creating clothes for Topshop. Coming up with the next outfit, Moss asked herself the same question: "Will I wear this?" In the case of the house — "Would I like to live in this?"
One of the guest rooms. Kate partially covered the walls and ceiling with striped print wallpaper, House of Hackney. As Moss admits, at first she wanted to use William Morris wallpaper, but when she saw the striped print, she fell in love with it unconditionally.

"I don't like minimalist houses where there are only black and white colors," Kate admits. "I prefer eclecticism." The Barnhouse interior is just a little bit. There are 1920s, 1960s, 1970s, antique carpets and sofas in bright pink and green upholstery in the living room, striped wallpaper, animalistic prints on pillows and Mexican colorful bedspreads in the guest room, paintings by Damien Hirst and rare black-and-white photographs taken in the lobby By Linda McCartney. On one of them, under the portrait of Neil Young, there is the signature "Kate from Neil. Hello!"

For the master bedroom, located on the mezzanine above the living room, Kate has developed an unusual mirror design-a canopy. "You can catch your reflection in mirror surfaces! Supermodel exclaims. "It's stunningly beautiful." If you're Kate Moss, then of course! By the way, a portrait of a nude supermodel adorns one of the walls of the house. "I also really wanted different shades of silver to be present in the design," Kate explains her concept. — The house is surrounded by a birch grove, and it seemed important to me to emphasize this somehow, to make the surrounding landscape part of the interior. Katie and I have been looking for a silvery carpet for the bedroom for a long time. I was already ready to bring my own from home, but fortunately we found a similar one at Jacaranda Carpets."

According to Moss, the six months she spent working on the Barnhouse interior completely changed her. "I plunged into country life. It's like going back to childhood. You can do everything that is impossible to even imagine living in a city apartment: sleep outside on the terrace, cook over an open fire. I even started making jam! Very tasty. It's called Kate's Sweet & Sticky. I'm seriously considering whether to start selling it. It would seem that these are such simple things, but they make life more joyful." When asked if the supermodel will continue to do interior design, Kate answers in the affirmative: "Yes! Katie and I have already registered our own design bureau."
