The first Nodaleto store in America has opened in Miami with bright interiors from the studio of Rafael de Cardenas in every sense. Scarlet sofas and chrome surfaces create a fantastic entourage in the spirit of retro futurism of the 1960s

The French shoe brand Nodaleto has opened its first American store in Miami, the interiors of which were designed by the New York studio Rafael de Cárdenas. Rafael de Cardenas took the retro-futurism of the 1960s as a basis - with his love for the space theme and interest in science fiction. The designers also linked the trapezoidal shape of Nodaleto's signature heels to the chairs featured in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

"In the design of the space, we used shapes and materials that create the feeling of a space station. In many ways, the French design and scenography of science fiction films of the 1950s and 60s determined the image and perception of space no less than real astronauts and research. The terrier reflects exactly this," says Rafael de Cardenas about the concept of interiors.
Display cases with shelves were placed along the chrome walls of the narrow hall, dissolving the real boundaries of the room in the flickering surfaces. Through the central axis of the interior runs a series of sculptural chairs on which customers can sit and try on shoes.

References to science fiction can be seen throughout the store, the floors of which are completely covered with scarlet carpets, and the walls are decorated with shimmering chrome panels with light strips. "This is a move in the spirit of movie decorations: a textured soft floor next to cold steel shelves," the designer notes.

The bright red partition in the center is decorated with the brand logo with illumination, and here the designers could not do without a reference to the game surrealism of the 1960s. The rebirth is decorated with three pairs of white legs, as if passing from one reality to another. "The store works as a creative field where there is a place for mischief and playful mood in the spirit of Nodaleto," the designers of the studio say.
