According to the original plan, there was no hallway in the house. Architect Ksenia Mickiewicz made it specifically to cut off the cold air flows from the common space of the first floor. "When we limited the hallway area, we had such a nice space on the back side, which we gave away for a recreation area and reading books," says Ksenia. "There are two racks located here, one of which houses an electrical panel and other technical equipment of the house."

The interior is minimalistic, the main accent is furniture, and the walls, floor and ceiling are just a background for it. In the cabinet furniture, which is made to order, Ksenia used an interesting technique: the side walls are brought forward, and the facades are recessed. Due to this solution, the constructive furniture sets the rhythm of the entire interior.

The space of the two—storey townhouse is divided traditionally: on the ground floor there is a public area with an entrance hall, a kitchen, a dining group, a TV viewing area and a place to read books, a guest bathroom and utility rooms (boiler room and laundry room). The second floor is a private area, there is a master bedroom with a wardrobe and shower, a children's room, an office and a bathroom.

The living room, dining room and recreation area are united by an eight-meter shelving made of oak veneer, with fragments of ceramics and black enamel. This rack has become the main compositional accent of the first floor. Passing along three zones, it is the central exposition for paintings, sculptures and art objects.

The corner sofa, made according to the sketches of Ksenia Mickiewicz, is positioned so as to visually separate the living room area from the dining group. Thanks to the low backs, the sofa does not attract attention, but only emphasizes the integrity of the space.

The kitchen turned out to be not quite a standard configuration. The customers dreamed of a big island, but the width of the space made it impossible to place the classic island parallel to the kitchen. "That's why we made a corner island," Ksenia explains, "the short part of it is adjacent to the wall and runs along the main kitchen area, and the long part is combined with the bar counter on the same level with the countertop. The hood is hidden in a box with ceramic facades, which is also used on the island."

The staircase leading to the second floor is emphatically ascetic. The color of the coating of the steps flows onto the walls, which enhances the intimacy of this zone. The main accent of the whole space is a pendant lamp and a painting. The fence is made of tinted glass with a black solid oak handrail.

On the second floor, at the request of customers, an office was equipped for two workplaces. The multifunctional rack along the wall smoothly turns into two work desks — they have a height-lifting function, you can work behind them both sitting and standing. There is also a comfortable pull-out sofa in the office, ready to accommodate delayed guests.

The master bedroom is a spacious room from which you can get to the walk—in closet and bathroom. The wall at the head of the bed combines two materials: from above, the ceiling smoothly descends to the wall in the form of a protruding box, from below a parquet board rises from the floor to it. In the bedroom there is a small area for relaxing and reading books with a comfortable armchair, a table and a floor lamp.

For the decoration of the walls of the nursery, a complex shade of pale pink was chosen, which could not be better suited for the room of a little princess. Part of the wall behind the bed, custom-made according to the designer's sketches, is finished with wall panels.

The nursery has its own storage system — a multifunctional cabinet with an open shelf on which you can put books or toys. The facades are made in two shades: complex pink and beige-cream. The room turned out to be very gentle and cozy.

From the master bedroom to the bathroom you get through the walk—in wardrobe - this is a large wardrobe with sliding glass facades. "We chose an unusual system of extension," explains the author of the project, "when closed, the facades are located in the same plane, and when they are pushed apart, the facade first moves forward, and only then moves to the right or left." A floor-to-ceiling mirror and a console on legs for storing cosmetics and jewelry were installed in front of the cabinet.

There is a narrow window next to the bathroom. The designer wanted to let daylight into the bathroom, so the door between the bathroom and the wardrobe was made of corrugated glass in a metal frame — daylight penetrates through it into the room.

The bathroom is designed in shades of gray, like the entire interior as a whole, the design of the cabinet is similar to the design of cabinet furniture on the first floor — all the same recessed facades and a protruding frame.

Customers are very happy with their new home and assure that it has become a place of strength for them. They want to come home, invite guests (who are completely delighted with the interior!), spend a lot of time in their house and enjoy life here!
