We take note of ideas on how to create a beautiful and at the same time durable interior that will not have to be overhauled in a couple of years.

1 Cover the walls with washable paint
The classic technique of paint on the walls actually turns out to be also very practical. You can buy a special vandal-proof coating that is resistant to mechanical influences. Scratches and scuffs are less noticeable on such walls, and it is easier to clean them from stains if they appear. But even the usual washable paint is a budget and at the same time a durable option for wall decoration. You can update it at any time, it's not long and inexpensive.
Please note that it is not only the composition that matters, but also the color of the paint. Choose the tone, focusing on the functionality of the room. For the "dirty zones" of the hallway or kitchen, it is better to take the most unmarked shades: khaki, taupe, gray, marsh, brown. White is also suitable, since spots are not so noticeable on a light surface, but in this case it is better to choose vandal-proof paint.

2 Use wear-resistant furniture
Vandal-proof interior consists not only of decoration, furniture should match it. Furniture should be durable or easily restored, undemanding in care and easy to clean. If you use wood, bet on high-strength rocks: hornbeam, acacia, teak, ash, oak, etc. In the kitchen, it can be durable plastic, stainless steel, quartz agglomerate. Shades of furniture are also better to choose non-branded. On such facades, minor damage will be less noticeable, which means that cosmetic repairs will not take a long time.
In this apartment, the wooden facades of cabinets and shelves are framed by a welded metal frame, which gives the structure strength and emphasizes the loft style. And for the kitchen set, they chose a special plastic with a regenerating coating. This is an innovative material that completely returns its original appearance when the surface is heated. After such a "restoration", there are no scratches and other minor damages on the facades.

3 Cover the walls and floor with granite
Porcelain stoneware is considered one of the most wear-resistant coatings. It does not bend and does not crack under the weight of heavy furniture, is not afraid of mechanical damage and scratches, and is also easy to clean and calmly tolerates contact even with aggressive chemicals. All this makes it an ideal material for vandal-proof interior.
They can not only be applied to the floor, but also used for all finishing. For example, this is often done in the bathroom and in the entrance area. If desired, it can be included in all rooms, even residential ones, if properly balanced with more "warm" textures. If you are laying granite on the floor, for example, in the living room, lay a large soft carpet for comfort. You can decorate a part of the wall with it, combining it with wooden or MDF panels and also adding cozy textiles to the interior. Most often, the surface behind the TV or the headboard is allocated in this way, and in the cooking area you can trim the entire wall behind the headset, including the apron.

4 Choose upholstered furniture with vandal-proof upholstery
Upholstered furniture is one of the most vulnerable places in the interior. The upholstery of sofas, armchairs or headboards gets dirty, wears out, deforms over time. And if there are children and animals at home, then the fabric can be accidentally torn at all. That is why it would be a mistake to put budget furniture with flimsy upholstery in a vandal-proof interior. Yes, you will save money by buying a cheaper sofa, but there is a big risk that it will fall into disrepair very quickly. It is wiser and more profitable to invest in "unkillable" materials. These are, for example, chenille, flock, tapestry, artificial suede. Such furniture fabrics are resistant to any mechanical influences, do not wipe and do not lose their shape. Additionally, they can be impregnated with a dust- or dirt-repellent composition.

5 Put quartz vinyl on the floor
Another strong and durable floor covering is quartz vinyl. It is often used in interiors for rent and is appreciated for its simple styling method, stylish appearance and good wear resistance. A big plus of quartz vinyl tile is that it is not cold to the touch, like granite or tile, so it can be laid in residential areas. It is generally a common technique to put quartz vinyl on the floor throughout the apartment: from the hallway to the bedroom. For example, this was done in this studio (the only exception was the bathroom, which was faced with granite).
