Designer Daisy Ausheva designed this apartment for a girl using a non-standard range for small rooms: deep blue with red accents.

Customer and tasks
The author of the project, Daisy Ausheva, describes her customer as follows: "She is a versatile and self-sufficient girl, she works with IT products, travels a lot for work, has many hobbies and is a big fan of the work of Chuck Palahniuk and Frida Kahlo." The designer chose the hostess's hobbies as the leitmotif of the interior. So, the range of the apartment is inspired by the Frida Kahlo house-museum in Mexico City "Blue House".

Redevelopment
It was important for the hostess to have a separate dressing room and enough storage space for books. But the global redevelopment of the apartment was not required for this. The developer provided for a separate kitchen, a room, a bathroom and a mini-pantry in the hallway. The changes affected the room, part of it was taken under a spacious dressing room, for which the entrance was moved now it is from the kitchen. In a small kitchen (about 10 square meters), it was possible to organize a living area. The pantry also remained in the layout, so now the hostess has enough storage systems.

Finishing
The walls in the rooms and even in the bathroom are painted. Behind the headboard of the bed, wallpaper with a tropical pattern was used, another reference to the work of Kahlo.

There is a tile in the bath area (where water will directly enter). There is a tree on the floor in the bedroom and kitchen-living room. There are floor tiles in the hallway, bathroom and hallway.

Furniture and storage systems
The fact that a separate dressing room was allocated at the redevelopment stage eliminated the need for cabinet cabinets in the bedroom. Therefore, in this area they limited themselves to a bed, a small bedside table, a work desk and a chest of drawers.
In the kitchen-living room, in addition to a compact kitchen set, a bookcase was installed to store the hostess's library and decor.

There is also a wardrobe on the loggia. In the bathroom, storage is decided by a bedside table under the sink for various little things.
The limited budget for the implementation of the project and the period (spring is the time when many brands leave the market) dictated their conditions: some pieces of furniture were bought on Avito. In particular, the IKEA dining table and the Jysk desktop. The mirror in the bathroom of the USSR times was found there. A work chair in the bedroom and a mirror in the hallway were bought at a flea market.
The set in the kitchen was made to order. It does not take up much space, but due to the high upper cabinets with the third (mezzanine) level, it is quite roomy.

Lighting
The implemented lighting scenarios are quite simple. Overhead ceiling spots are used as a general technical light, they illuminate such important "nodes" as a corridor, hallway, bathroom. In the kitchen-living room and bedroom, vintage lamps are used above the dining table and on the ceiling in the center of the bedroom. There is a floor lamp next to the sofa, which can also already be considered vintage. This is a copy of the French production of the 90s. The designer repainted it in a bright red shade, following the conceived range of the interior.

The project took about six months to implement, while the landlady of the apartment was outside of Russia for work and had no opportunity to observe the process. She trusted me completely.
