First, all the necessary holes were made in the shield. Then they were sanded with fine grain. They covered it with oil, and on both sides: external and internal, as well as all the places of cuts. The first layer was applied colored oil, and the second solid water-based. 

Irina admits that the durability and appearance of the coating pleased her. The surface has passed the test even with beet juice, there are no traces and spots left.
